Lead the charge in the park, and huck your meat with confidence while wearing the vented, military-style RED Mutiny II Helmet. This helmet’s durable polycarbonate shell helps keep your brain attached as you fall headfirst all over the rail garden, and the hidden Airvanced Ventilation system lets you control the flow of air into the Mutiny II with adjustable vents.
Low-profile design widens your field of vision so you can see the landing and stomp it
Removable ear pads keep your lobes toasty despite the army of snow guns pointed onto the hill
Undercovered design means you can dial in the helmet’s fit to accommodate a beanie and goggles underneath
Abbreviated brim adds flavor and keeps snow out of your goggle vents
Goggle gasket and removable goggle clip secure your eyewear while you ragdoll down the landing
Co-developed with Anon, thus eliminating the possibility of a gaper gap when you put on your Anon goggles
REDphones audio-accessory-compatible so you can blast your obscenely dope tunes into your skull all day long
Bottom Line: A stand-out design for comfortable brain cushioning.
This helmet fits very true to the sizing chart. I like to wear a hat and goggles underneath my helmet, so I went a size up and it's a bit on the big side with all of the padding taken out. I have Anon figment goggles and there's no gaper gap when I have the helmet tilted forwards. Gotta get a thicker had to help keep the helmet in place. Protect your noggin!
Helmet looks good and feels good, better than my old Giro helmet. My problem is that because you can remove the ear pads they can slip out sometimes and allow wind in. Not bad enough that I would get something else though.
is it better to wear goggles under the helmet or over? What's the goggle clip like? Any good? If I did wear them under would I have to size up? I'm thinking of getting White or black which would you suggest? I'm gettin Oakley crowbars googles either black or White depending on which colour helmet I get. Do you fog up at all in it? Thanks guys. :)
The clip on the back is removable. Under or over it's really just personal preference. You should not have to worry about sizing up if you do go under. Make sure the helmet is snug, a loose helmet is not going to save that melon. Color maybe depends more on your kit, black is always a sold options. No the helmet dose not fog.
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. Great fit, warm enough to not need a hat underneath. Great goggle with with Anon and Smith(Phenom). Nice removable ear flap. No noticable wind in the ears when wearing the flaps.
I couldn't wait for this to go no sale so I just bought it at regular. Everything I wanted is in this helmet. Lightweight, warm, and looks great! This is one piece of equipment that I own and would not cheap out on.
As for sizing, I tend to wear 7 1/8 New Era Caps, so the Medium fits well. But I think for those who still want to wear a beanie underneath you might want to go a size up or just take out the liner.
How much protection is lost in the Mutiny compared to the Theory? The Theory is ASTM 2040 and CE 1077B. The Mutiny is just CE 1077B. Anyone have any info??? (Burton's website says that the Mutiny is both ASTM 2040 and CE 1077B...not sure if Dogfunk missed this or if B's website is jacked).
i am very pleased with this helmet. it's warm and looks bad 'A'. even as im tumbling down the hillside this helmet keeps me looking cool. (side note: i ordered the slate grey color and it is a little lighter grey than the picture portrays. just a heads up...)
style, comfort, light weight.. everything you're looking for in a helmet. price is great but i took off a star because Red phones are an additional 30 something bucks. Also i ordered the Dark Slate Gray and it's more like a blueish gray color. still sweet but deceiving.
Gettin whacked in the head and losing your smarts is not the in style this season. I like the red mutiny because a) it doesn't press on my forehead like most other helmets, b) the bill keeps water out of my goggles, and c) it looks good. I've rocked this helmet for some time, probably 200 days on hill, and it has never let me down. If you think helmets are uncool, then you must've hit your head. Safety first, and if you're feelin unsafe, always take a break, perhaps in the trees.
So I got the Black one! It fits really well! I've had a hard time finding a helmet I like, fits well, & looks good! FinAlly found this one. So happy! I would give it a 5 but it doesn't come with speakers, you have to get extra so that sucks. Other than that great helmet!! Thanks BackcountrY front desk for recommending this helmet! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this helmet is sick. super warm and comfortable. i aslo purchased the audio setup to go with it, it definitely slaps! at first i was un happy as i noticed the scuffs that soon appeared after chasing powder in the trees. luckily they wiped off with a few good scrubbings.
