Red Total Impact Short - Women's - 09/10 - 2009

For total protection of your tail bone, hips, and upper legs, enlist the power of the Red Women’s Total Impact Short. This underlayer protects more of your legs than the basic impact short and it does a good job of insulating your quads and glutes, so you get more out of your body.

  • Women’s cut and design makes for a more comfortable fit
  • Mesh material wicks moisture as you sweat
  • Ergonomic and breathable d30 padding promotes comfort as it protects
  • Comfortable boxer waist band features loop pulls on the sides for easy on and off

Bottom Line: It’s not if you fall, but when you fall.

Horrible - Ripped after One Day

By:
February 24, 2010

Elastic Waist band ripped off completely after 3 days of riding. thought i got a defective pair and bought a second pair. Elastic waist band ripped off after 1 day of riding. Upon further inspection the fabric itself is all blown out and ripped down the length off the legs. Beware do not buy these.
Guess I got totally ripped off !!!

D3O might be the problem

By:

I got my wife a pair and we ended up returning them because she said that they gave her no tailbone protection at all. According to the d3o website, this material can withstand impact from a hammer on a watermelon. But for some reason it still hurts when you fall on your tailbone.
The main purpose of impact shorts is for tailbone protection and these fail at that.

Not enough tailbone protection for me

By:
December 8, 2009

Seems like one of the best on the market, however, I was looking for great tailbone protection. The pads for the hips or sides of the waist are great, very thick and padded. The tailbone protection pad is not thick enough for me and I still got a bit hurt when falling down. :p I will have to customize my own to get what I really want. These pants are great if you fall on your sides a lot, but again not as much coverage as I would have liked for tailbone. For some, however, they may be great. The pants are comfy and not too obtrusive. I mean I could still get my snowboard pants on over them and zipped. Hope this helps!
