Description

The fifth horseman of the apocalypse.

There are so many snowboards out there that claim to be all-mountain that it's easy to lose sight of what that even means. It should be a board that does everything well, from the park to the sidecountry, and from hardpack to powder. Too many manufacturers just use 'all-mountain' as a dumping ground for their mediocre designs. Fortunately, the folks at Ride haven't forgotten what all-mountain means. The Highlife UL isn't just some half-assed design that got tossed into the all-mountain category for lack of a better place. The Highlife UL was designed from day one to not just ride the whole mountain, but to obliterate it.

As Ride's flagship all-mountain board, the Highlife is loaded with Ride's latest technology. Hybrid All Mountain Rocker features a rockered nose to give the board plenty of float in the deep stuff and a bit more forgiveness on sketchy terrain and sketchy landings. From the nose back, the Highlife uses micro-camber for edge control and tons of pop. The all-mountain directional shape offers a smooth, predictable ride with plenty of edge control and flotation in powder. Ride’s UL edges wrap all the way around the board seamlessly and weigh less than standard steel edges but maintain Ride’s legendary durability.

The Highlife is also Ride’s showcase vehicle for its new Popwalls sidewall technology. Ride sandwiches carbon stringers, which come from the rear inserts to the contact points in the tail, into its Slimewalls material to give the Highlife tons of pop, enhanced stability, and better response. Along with Popwalls, Ride’s Carbon Array 5 Laminates add stiffness throughout the board for better board control. All of this technology is built around Ride’s Silencer 5 Core, which reduces vibration for a smooth and stable, but snappy feel. Ride finishes off the Highlife UL with its UL base, one of the lightest in the industry, to round out an ultralight, ultra-versatile, every-terrain-annihilation machine.
