I presently have a 2006 Burton...
I presently have a 2006 Burton Custom 162cm but want to get a new board and was thinking of getting a shorter one. I get lots of differing advice but was thinking of a 158 cm Ride Machete. I am intermediate to advanced in some areas wieghing 195 lbs with size 10 boots. Some people were saying 158 is too short.........do you think so or will I be fine ?
Board size to a degree is all about prefferance. I'm 6'2" 160lbs. My powder board is a 160cm and my fun board is a 154cm. If you are worried try to demo/rent a 158 and see if you like. What you like is ultimately what will make for a great snowboard.

Write your question here...Please help. Im a beginner-intermeidate rider (as a matter of fact, ive never been to the park) but i'd love to learn. Im 5'11 200-205 11.5 boot size do i need a 160 or 161W board. This is will be my first board ever. Its between machete or manic...?
Any suggestions please?
For your first board ever you won't be going fast enough to need a lot of stability. You'll want maneuverability to advance in the park and on the rest of the mountain. I would recommend a length of 155 to 158cm. Don't worry about the weight charts they come out with, I'm about your weight and ride a 152 most of the time. You won't break the board, it will just flex more than the listed flex (example: a flex of 5 for a board designed for a 180lbs person might flex 4 for a 200lbs person). Your height means nothing in selecting a board. The board doesn't respond to your height, but your weight. 200lbs is 200lbs whether your 5' 11'' or 4' 6''. As far as width you may need a wide, but at least a waist width of 152mm or larger. I always recommend short boards for beginners-lower level intermediates as they are much easier to learn how to initiate a turn on. Good luck.
Slaughter the snow
Get out there and buy this board. If you like to annihilate the entire mountain, then put in your earbuds, push play on "raining blood" and slay the slopes. With its reverse camber technology and tons of pop you really don't need anything other board for pow and park.
Yo- I want to ride the 155. I am 190lbs...
Yo- I want to ride the 155. I am 190lbs and wear an 11 boot. You think I can rock that size board based on my stats? Will I lose any float when I am mobbing pow?
55 seems awfully short for someone 190lbs even if you're only using it for park. I'm 205-210 and ride last year's 161w it works great all-around in the park, groomers, pow.
No problem. I'm your weight with a 11.5 boot and I ride a Capita Stairmaster 152 wide. I've never had as much fun snowboarding as I do on short boards (155 and smaller). The only time I want a board 160 or longer is if I'm in pow deeper than 2ft.
will Ride's LX bindings be compatible for...
will Ride's LX bindings be compatible for the machete??
Yeah the LX bindings will work fine.
Here's what's up....
If you like riding all that the hill has to offer look no further. As far as the Ride line goes the Machete is the Swiss Army Knife of boards. It is the all mountain total package. Lowrize Rocker makes riding powder and tree's a cinch while providing the stability you need to dial landings in the park or maintaining an edge at higher speeds. And with the addition of Pop Rods your ollies will go through the roof! If you ride it all and have to choose one board (don't mess this up) the Machete is for you!
All new Machete, with Pop Rods
Adding Pop Rods to the Machete made an amazing difference this year. That touch of snap in the board makes this my perfect board in the line. I've been addicted to it since the launch last year.
From the top of the mountain and all the way through the park, the Machete really speaks to my all-around riding style. Stiff enough to take me cat snowboarding in Steamboat CO, to hitting rails at Breck. I call it the quiver killer... hard for me to strap on another boards without second guessing myself.
Go get some!!
does this twig come in 153 or just 152? I...
does this twig come in 153 or just 152? I am affraid that with that small of board i will loose carving ability...?????

I am 5'11'' 167LBS with a size 10 boot. What size should i get and do i need wide? I was leaning towards the 155
Id go 153 because im 6'1" 160lbs and i ride a 153 and its perfect and u will definitely NOT need a wide board i have size 12s and they fit with just a little over hang so with a size 10 you should be fine.
does this twig come in 153 or just 152? I am affraid that with that small of board i will loose carving ability...?????
Puttin Pop Rods to use.
This stick floats the fluff, pops in the park and is just an all mountain slayer in my opinion. LowRize rocker keeps your control and ensures you're not going to get bucked on a rail or eat sh*t while bombing a groomer. Slow sign or rope in the way of your stash? Psh, just ollie with the PopRod they've put in place. Now get out there and do some damage with this Machete!
