Ride Machete Snowboard - 2011

Quick, precise, and ready to slice and dice with the freestyle-tuned technology of the Ride Machete Snowboard. Where other rocker boards may wash out on big landings(and switch landings)or give you a charlie horse when you're trying to navigate through crud, the Machete's LowRize rocker profile remains stable like a samurai poised for a deadly duel. Oh yeah, the Machete's Slimewall 85a sidewalls glow in the dark too, which just seals the deal.

  • LowRize rocker profile raises contact points at tip and tail to reduce edge hang-ups while still maintaining your pop and control
  • Glow-in-the-dark Slimewall 85a sidewalls abosrb impacts and make grabbing easy in the dark
  • Cleave Edges use 50% more steel to resist dings and blowouts; the beefier edge also gives you flexibility with tuning
  • Carbon Array 3 in binding zones improves edge bite and toe-to-heel transitions on hard snow
  • Internal Pop Rods 1.0 feature carbon-wrapped urethane to increase snap and smooth out rough landings
  • Fusion 4000 sintered base goes harder and faster than other bases, it also has an atrocious fetish for speed

Bottom Line: Shlliing, sskkrrep, shhhawaa—those are our sword noises.

Love this board. The shape just feels the most natural for me. The only thing i HATE about it is the die cut base. Ive owned 4 of these and the die cut was come apart for me on each one.

I'm a all mountain rider, like to hit some park as well as powder,so i'm looking 2 boards in 1... i was researching a lot,and found the machete might be an answer! So,another sizing question just to make sure...i'm 6,3 tall, 190 lbs weight and the boot size is 11,5 ( not reduced size boot ) and to repeat,i like to hit some jumps in park, use bassicly whole mountain as terrain park!?

Quiver of one

If you do not have the ability to build a quiver of boards and want a board that performs in all conditions then this is the board for you. Yes this board is a twin but it is very versatile and will tackle what ever you can through at it - and here is why:

The low rize rocker will keep you floating in the deepest of pow yet makes it very forgiving which is good for buttering and playing around.

The carbon array 3 makes the board plenty responsive edge to edge and keeps the machete plenty stable through the chop and slop as well at high speed.

Pop-rods give the board additional ollie/nollie pop without adding additional stiffness to the flex of the board.

Slimewalls really dampen the ride and when paired with the thicker edge it makes the sidewall super durable which is nice if your hitting rails/boxes or clip a rock/stump.

"Machete" it cuts through everything!

I'm 5'11" 160 lbs. I wear a 10.5 size boot, would you suggest going with a 157w or 158?

Note:
I ride a +15/0 stance if that makes a difference

The waist width of the 158 regular is 29.4 cm, and the waist width of 157 wide is 26.2 cm, so the 158 regular is a bit wider. You should be fine with the 158 regular, I'm fairly certain that Ride's wide boards are made for 11+ boot sizes.

Go to Board

By:
September 20, 2011

I've been fortunate to ride all the Ride Machete board models for the past generations, and it has become a favorite 'Go to Board' in my quiver.

The Low Rise profile is great on anything you can shred. From Park to Pipe, All Mountain to Jibbin', the playful feel underfoot is remarkable. Greet floatation on those Pow-Pow days to boot, especially in trees where snow conditions can vary from one turn to the next.

With the addition of Pop Rods, the board has a more lively response when loaded up, especially nice when playing on rollers or park jibbing time.

I take this board anywhere and everywhere the mountain might lead. Great true twin with versatility to Ride.
