Description

Function first.

If you measure the success of your season by the number of pow days you get rather than by the number of compliments you get on your outfit in the liftline, then the Ride Men's Newport Jacket is the one for you. Simple and stylish, this jacket is equipped with 15K-rated waterproofing and full coverage to keep you dry on balls-deep days in the backcountry.

The durable twill fabric resists tears from hidden branches and has an Aquapel coating to repel snow, plus fully taped seams prevent moisture from slipping through the cracks. The long fit allows room to layer underneath and move comfortably in, and provides additional coverage keeps your butt dry on the chairlift. Mesh-lined underarm vents allow you to dump heat on warmer days, and a powder skirt prevents snow from getting down your pants when Mother Nature decides to drop the goods.

Function First is Right!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I hope I can wear this jacket forever!

This thing is invincible. I have torn thru the BC and snagged it on tree branches and rocks and it hasn't been ripped or damaged in anyway. On top of that, you stay dry. Nothing is getting thru it and I've had it in some saturated settings. It will keep the warmth too (part of being warm is being dry, right?) I have the shell only which allows me to layer to the temp.

I am 5'10", 40" chest, 33" waist and wear a large. It is baggy and the way I like it. The long fit is killer and goes down to my thigh-ish.

I'd recommend this to anyone that wants to go wear the goats wonder. You won't be disappointed. The only bummer for me is I didn't get that sick trucker hat with it; that'd be the icing on the cake.
