Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Binding

With minimal contact on the board and maximized control, the Rome 390 Boss Binding is still the go-to binding for the advanced all-mountain freestyle rider. The 390 Boss excels in any terrain while delivering powerful, mind-reading heel-to-toe response along with side-to-side tweakability for pressing and buttering your way through the park.

  • 390 Asym highback is slightly canted to deliver seamless response and flex with your board
  • V-Rod Unibody baseplate reduces the binding's footprint on the board for increased board feel along with better side-to-side flex and edge-to-edge power
  • Yes, I Cant customizable canting system supplies you with 3 swappable canted footbeds including 0, 2, and 3-degree angles
  • SubBase V-Pad fills in the lifted corners of the V-Rod baseplate with EVA for smooth side-to-side flex
  • UnderWrap.2 heel hoop extends to the toe area for direct heel-to-toe response, and is torsionally flexible for side-to-side tweakability
  • AAutostrap ankle strap design adjusts the tension of the strap at the ladder to stay open when unfastened for easier access and less wear on your binding
  • Contour ankle strap is Rome's most plush ankle strap, providing support and comfort for all types of shredding
  • Comformgrip toe strap uses a rubber 'x' design that protects, grips, and conforms to your boot with no pressure in sight

Bottom Line: It's good to be the boss.

These bindings are the BOSS!!

Got these binding last season and never had such an amazing set of binding. I had the Union Contacts but the straps on the 390 bosses are beyond comfy. No weird pressure points at all. Love the canted foot beds too! I ride a wide stance. These things are the boss!!

Get tweeky like a boss!

Customizable to the nth degree

Great bindings. The canted footbeds saved me knees from the torture I regularly give them on the mountain. Just the right amount of stiffness on the highbacks.

A tad on the heavy side but oh sooooo good!

Bought the L/XL based on reviews here, since I have size 9 thirtytwo

Bought the L/XL based on reviews here, since I have size 9 thirtytwo boots (right in the middle of Rome sizing). I have both ankle and toe straps adjusted all the way to their smallest settings and things are still not tight enough - rideable but always feels like I want one more click. Also, the ankle straps have busted open on the mtn more than once.

Would exchanging for a size S/M fix my problems?

I had the same issue... bought L/XL for my size 9 Burton Hails. At first the straps would not fit tight at the factory setting... and then I noticed you can unscrew both the strap and ladder and reattach it one notch back. Now, I can get the ankle strap to ratchet tight and the straps don't spontaneously open when boarding. Also, you should adjust the toe strap and ladder to the back position if you have not already.

If this binding was a chick, i'd make sweet love to it

These bindings are ridiculous....never had so much control and comfort at the same time. The ankle straps cushion like nothing else and the toe straps are genius. I've had burtons (mission, cartel, customs), drake podiums w/ the carbon highback, and currently also ride a forum shaka on my other park board.....These take the cake (although the shaka's are damn good bindings too). Like others have said, if you spend a few minutes setting everything up properly, these bindings will give your feet much needed love.

Damn good bindings but they take time and patience to set up.

So I got these bindings a few weeks ago and been out a few times on em so I thought I'd drop my review. At first I thought these bindings were a disaster, had a horrible first day out on em. I nearly came home and ripped em off my board. But I didn't want to give up so easily. Do yourself a favor if you decide to go for these bindings, take time to set them up properly and read EVERYTHING about them that comes in the box. After a little time spent adjusting and tweaking these my next day out was awesome. I absolutely love these bindings but you gotta put in time setting them up to see their true potential. Has to be one of the most comfortable bindings I ever rode, the base plate padding along with the canting make these a real knee saver. The ankle strap is the most comfortable I've ridden, the toe strap a just as good, you can really crank em down with no pitch or pressure points. The ratchets are one of the smoothest I've used even in freezing cold and fresh powder they never came close to jamming. Pretty damn light too considering all the adjustment options on these also.

In all great all around binding if you like either park or just all over the mountain all day. I give em four stars, I subtracted one due to the length of time it takes to set them up. But if you're willing to give them a serious chance you'll find out these have to be one of the best bindings on the market out there.

Sizing question I have a 9.5 boot size and ride a 155 Agent

Sizing question

I have a 9.5 boot size and ride a 155 Agent and I'm looking to get these for my board. The problem I have is which is the best size for me since it seems the S/M and L/XL both fit a 9.5 boot. I'm trying to make the best decision for my board and its width so they don't overhang but fit my boots the best they can. I ride the 32 Boa Boots so anyone out there have some advice for me so I can avoid a return and then find out the bindings are out if stick in the color I want. Thanks.

L/XL for sure... I bought S/M 390's for my size 9 Burton Hail boots and they were too small. The width and strap lengths were okay, but the base plate was not wide enough for the boot and the high back pinched my boot heel. BTW....I also ride a Rome Agent 154.

I'd go with the L/XL. The biggest difference between the two is the width of the baseplate. There isn't a ton of difference in the length, and since you can adjust the in-base pads at the bottom there should have any overhang issues.

Called Boss for a Reson

I agree with the previous comment, you have to read everything and really tweak these bindings, which takes some time. But holy s***, once they are dialed in, it is like your feet are molded to your board. You can dial in every single joint on these bindings. The rubber toe cap fits around the top of my boots so well and I have zero pressure points. These are going to be a little much if you are a beginner, as you won't really have as much direct preference needed to really dial these in, but if you are willing to adjust mid run until you have it perfect, you will fall in love with these. The only thing that I can say that isn't absolute praise is that if you have big feet the toe deck might be a little narrow. I have size 13 Lashed boots from 32 that right across the widest part of my foot, doesn't just smoothly fit in, I kind of have to work it in.

Love em

By:

Ive ridden these about 5 times already this season. I had a pair of restricted burton missions that were awesome, but i needed canted footbeds cause my bad knees. These are just as good as the missions. I love all the custom options on these and at first they seemed useless. But once you use them, it all falls into place. Theyre great for everything. Theyre stiff enough to hit booters but flexible enough to jib around all day. I love my burtons but theres almost no stance adjustment options. I guess theyre trying to get you to go est. The rome discs allow you to micro adjust by a couple millimeters. I still think the mission ankle and toe strap are the best on the market but the 390 bosses are a close second. The paint chips a little bit pretty quickly but its nothing that effects the performance.

To sum it up, every bit of new technology on these bindings work perfectly. I think theyre a little expensive but their performance makes it worth it. If you have the money, go with these

I rode these bindings this summer for 2 months at Mt. Hood. The bindings were great for rails and hard landings as they have a dampening material on the bottom of the binding. Aside from the well-cushioned footbeds, I also really liked the sturdy feel that the aluminum construction provides. Bombproof and dependable while still providing plenty of comfort.

OG Boss

By:

This is the original boss of bindings, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The new conform grip toe cap is the best toe cap / strap I've ever ridden, hands down. It's rubberized for a no slip fit that will conform to any style of boot. I rock the 2.0 Cants which reduce reduce knee fatigue after a long day of shred. These things won't let you down, plus they have a 2 year warranty and you will never pay for parts, ever.
