Do these work with Burton Channel boards if I have the M6 Transition Kit? And how much of the binding touches the board? I know the Union Forces hardly touch the board but haven't done much research on these

You could put them on however I would really recommend getting an burton EST binding to go with a Burton ICS board. The Rome bindings will fit although the baseplates from the conversion kit probably won't be a perfect fit. The whole thought process between the ICS and EST is you get extra sensory feeling because the EST bindings have a soft EVA foam and B3 gel padding between your feet and the board which gives you great dampening as well as allowing you to be more connected with your board.

Love 'em

Got these bindings a couple seasons back and originally through them on my Nitro Swindle that only lasted a couple runs before snapping. But luckily my 390s were fine. I threw them on my Rome Artifact 1985 and the set up is perfect. These bindings offer a lot of flex and comfort and are light weight. My biggest fear was the toe strap, but it works like a boss, no slip whatsoever. And the main strap is super cushioned, wicked comfy. My last favorite feature on these bindings is the bungee strap attached to pull back the straps so you can easily work your boot into the binding. A simple addition that just adds to everything awesome about these.

You can't describe those bindings, cuz they are beyond what a binding should be. I rode on some Burton, Ride and Union bindings but so far those are the Sh**t, comfortable, easy so strap in-out, no pressure points etc. I shred on those now with Nike Zoom Forces and its been a killer mix

Def go for the Contacts bro, I own them and they are sick. With only 18% of the binding actually making contact with the board, it allows your board to flex more naturally. Just Like Ben said, they are lighter, stronger, comfier and just better built. Plus they are cheeper in price and not in durability!! I love Rome seeing as I ride one, but I LOVE Union for bindings. If you just pretty much jib, then def grab the Contacts. Super comfy straps, nice flexy high-back but doesnt sacrafice stability or feel 'too lose'(ie you feel like your still in control). Just get them and I promise you will not be dissapointed. Hope this helps bro :)

I havnt rode the 390's yet, but i have the contacts now and i love them. they are super light and have a nice flex to them. the straps are very comfy and stay on your boots nicely, and overall your feet just feel very secure and comfortable in the contacts. They also have this foam in the baseplate which allows your board to flex more naturally, which is great for park. The contacts are great, and as an added bonus, they're about 30 bucks cheaper than the 390s, so i would go with the contacts.

To give a bit more detail, I've got the Ride Society, and am debating between the Contrabands and the 390s. Two people I know have the society with contraband, but many people have told me to just get the 390s, since they are a beast binding. I know that they are extremely comfortable. I've been riding this bad pair of Ride EX's for about two years. Would the contraband be anything close to the feel of that binding? Since last season, I've had my eye on the 390s. The contrabands also have the best color to suit my board. Which bindings should I go for

I think you have judged contrabands to early. I have used contra's for two seasons now and can't get enough of them. If you really can't get them to fit right, you either have the wrong size or you are setting them up wrong. I don't think I will be going back to normal two strappers any time soon.

First off, thank you for taking your time to answer both. Today, I left to go to the shop, and I still couldn't decide, so I chose to buy both, then return one. I currently have both, and the 390s are going to have to be my choice. If I want the contraband's to fit properly, I'm going to have to cut part of the adjustment strap, which I don't plan to do since I may be returning it. The 390s have the ultra soft ankle strap, smoother than butter ratchets, that strap to get the ankle strap out of the way and everything. I am being too quick to judge the contraband's, but to be honest, I'm really nervous about them.

Well id still go with the 390's...... and this is why i don't know if you liked your EX's or not but yes they would have have a little smiler feel but the major difference is the special toe cup on the contrabands make a a lot of pressure points... but on the bright side for the contabands they are a vary light binding and a vary convenient but they have soo many set backs like i said in my first answer..... and as far as the look goes if you have last years society any of the 390's would look great on it because it is such a plain board.... and if you have this years the white and black ones would look sick on the black of that board..... hoped that helped

I've had these bindings for 2 or 3 seasons now and they're the best I've ever rode. The ankle strap is thick and has a large surface area, leaves you with zero soreness at the end of the day. The toe strap does its job well, never have any heel slippage. Good + tight. Its also worth noting that my other bindings would come loose at some point in the season. These NEVER did. Not once. They look sick too. Love em

Definately go for the 390's. But to be honest, you can get a better made binding for cheeper if you went with Union. Nothing against Rome, seeing as I ride a Rome Machine. But a company that is specific to one thing usually makes better product. In this case, Union does. Union is built stronger, are comfier, and are just a sick company to rock. Trust me, for $20-$50 less, you can have a pair of Unions that will last you twice as long as anything out.

The 390's for sure i have used a lot of bindings and these are my favorites because they are super comfy and Romes "no screw technology" is awesome and vary convenient for on the hill quick changes to the binding and the only other bindings i have ever used that even come close to them are any pair of Unions.... but any way back to the Ride Contrabands they are not vary good they do have some nice qualities like that you only have to tighten one binding at the top but they are vary uncomfortable and they are prone to break. And the Toe strap presses against your boot and makes pursuer points witch just makes for a bad ride....... Hoped that helped

This will be my 3rd year riding my 390's and they are amazing. i have only had to replace one of the toe straps THATS IT! and i ride in -30c alot of the time. not only that but they feel amazing on the feet, and dont put too much pressure on your foot and they still hold your feet solid. and not too mention the fact that the colors are redic and everyone points that out!

Can't go wrong.

By:
November 6, 2010

You can't go wrong with the 390's. Super comfy ankle strap and great toe strap that will now slip off even during the gnarliest falls.

IF YOU ARE DEBATING BETWEEN THESE AND UNION FORCE'S or CONTACT'S STOP!! THEY ARE DIFFERENT BINDINGS BUT YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG WITH EITHER DECISION. WEIGHT WILL NOT MATTER THAT MUCH TO YOU UNLESS YOU ARE DOUBLE CORKIN' JUMPS AT YOUR LOCAL RESORT. SO GO WITH WHATEVER LOOKS BETTER TO YOU.
