The name of this binding is how many things it's awesome at.

From backyard rail sessions to heavy backcountry lines, the Rome 390 Snowboard Binding kills it everywhere. The 390 Asym highback is ergonomic and canted for superior control and reduced fatigue, and the V-Rod baseplate reduces the binding's footprint so you can be one with your board.

An asymmetrical design lets the 390 Asym highback match your stance angle for a natural feel and delivers the right balance of flex and support. A minimal footprint on the V-Rod baseplate allows for more natural board flex and better heel-to-toe energy transfer, and UnderWrap.2 aluminum heelcup features the new Channel Adjust system to make dialing in the right fit easier than ever. EVA between the baseplate and the board fills the raised regions of the binding to reduce chatter and improve energy transfer. The Conform ankle strap has double the padding for a cushy, comfortable feel, and the OpenForm toe strap wraps around the front of your boot for a secure, pressure point-free fit.

The 390 Rips.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The first thing I noticed with the 390s is that the footbeds are redone and look much better. There's softer padding under the heels and toes and more supportive foam throughout, making it super comfortable and damp over choppy conditions.

Even though they are not the 390 Boss straps, they're still really comfortable and grippy, making them responsive yet ride-able all day. I loved the UnderWrap.2 heelcup too, because you can really feel the quick pull when charging groomers and making big turns.

In my opinion it is worth it to get the 390 Bosses for the upgraded straps, canted footbeds, and easier adjustability, but this is still a super solid binding with a lot of bang for your buck.
