This board is amazing. AMAZING. It flexes more than arnold schwarzenegger himself! You can butter all day and your legs will feel fine with it's soft flex. The only downfall is that it gets torn up fast with it's copper edges and soft flex. Plan on rockin it for a season but after that... Invest in the newest model! ROME

This is a great board, but I got a question to ask you. You know the hidden picture/graphic in between the bindings? How exactly do you show that? Are you supposed to peel it, or heat it up or something? Anyone know?

it goes along with the whole peep show theme they have this year on the artifact, you can either leave it blank, or scratch the surface off, which reveals an under dressed girl

Now from someone who really KNOWS... does this deck compare to the banana tech snowboards out there?
Andrew
Member since
Yes as a far as riding style. They are both very park/freestyle oriented boards. However they will ride completely different since the skate bananna is reverse camber and the artifact is a regular camber board. That will cause them to ride much differently.
me like

this board is great. i bought the hustlin one last year and the tech is the same. so much fun to dick around on i cant say enough good things about this board. deff a soft soft board and has great feel for jibs. everyone told me it would suck for crusin and off jumps but nah. it just has a nice rome feel that holds edge nicely and has good pop to hit kickers. i could throw a seven with this and not even think about it folding. i wouldnt hit anything huge thou. amazing board and is wicked durable on everything but the topsheet tend to peel it you amack it off trees.. anyboard would thou
Maybe Not

i broke my artifact before the season ended, the soft flex made everything fun, even powder..
but the boards sidewalls arn't strong enough, after that the board just started coming apart.
no doubt though, this board is fun..

i dont no wether to get the rome artifact 1985 or just the normal artifact what should i do?
Matt Coleman

The Artifact will be more controlable and better for different types of terrain, the 1985 (which is awesome) its great for rails and jibs and most park features, but cant take the heat in anything else. both board have amazing features, it just comes down to what you want to ride. I riden Artifacts, and own the 1985 artifact and you wont be displeased with either. Hope i could be of help.

definently the 1985, the rocker is sick, it feels awsome, i love it. i ride park a lot which is what both the boards are for so... but i love how it rides too. eash as hell to press and butter feels great. especially for jibbing
Awesome board

I've been on an Artifact for three years now. It's a fantastic board. I originally bought it because I wanted to have a soft board to learn to ride switch on, while my girlfriend was learning how to snowboard. It accomplished that mission and more, and became my main go-to board. Rome bills it as a freestyle board, but it's really a great all around deck. I mostly freeride in the trees, and it's performance is excellent in those conditions. Highly recommended.

could i get away with a 150 artifact with size 11 boots?

yes you definitly could, heel/toe drag in my experience is basically a technicality and never actually presents a REAL problem...just make sure you center your bindings so theres equal boot hang over the left and right side

This thing makes butters and presses so easy, I feel like I'm cheating. And the bronze edges definitely keep those hang ups away. This stick isn't so stable off the big booters, but then again what short jib stick with this much flex is? If you're thinking about snagging a flexy jib deck, then this is the stick for you.
great help

firstly, the gear heads did an awesome job helpin me choose this board, thanks again
and the board was heaven compared to my burton twin......flex way softer... you can really control it...its just great
only bad part is the top gets scratched easily......i'd be puttin some stickers on asap and not let the retarded lifties ram it into the holder on the gondolas
Love it!
