Description

Spread some fun.

Say aloha to fun times in the park with the Rome Butterknife Snowboard. With a skatey feel and a design that's meant to be ridden 1-2 sizes shorter than your normal deck, the Butterknife is a jibber's wet dream. Its unique shape gives it a loose, fun feel for crushing rails and jibbing around the entire mountains without sacrificing stability and pop, so you can still send it on jumps and bust out crisp ollies.

SkateCore profiling creates both the ollie feel of a skateboard and the turny feel of riding on trucks by thinning the board between the bindings and thickening the core under foot.  A loose feel is made possible thanks to the ButterOut transition zones. By doubling the length of the transition zones, the section of edge at the contact points are elongated, which when combined with the catch-free, fun feel of the No Hang-Ups rocker makes for a buttery ride. The QuickRip sidecut features additional contact points near the bindings that allow the board to feel loose at low speeds while still maintaining edge hold at speed. Glass impact plates underfoot increase durability by protecting the core from getting compressed by the bindings on harsh impacts, and the durable Impact base stands up to abuse from bonks and bumps, and can be easily repaired.

  • No Hang-Ups rocker
  • True twin shape
  • QuickRip sidecut
  • StraightBiax laminate

This board is awesome! Way "buttery" too. I have never owned a park board so it felt pretty squirrelly for the first few runs, but is definitely soo forgiving on awkward landings from jumps and butters are a piece of cake with the rockered out tips. What I mean by "squirelly" is its kind of slippery. Its a flat camber in the middle and the rocker tips make it so the contact points arent as responsive at slower speeds.

You can't notice from the photos, but the "no hang ups rocker" part of the tip and tail actually are a concave shape like a bowl as well as turned up. So not only are the tips turned up, but the edges are turned up too. This is so your not going to catch edges on the nose or tails if you land sketchy.

Some people think you can't ollie well on reverse cambered boards, but thats false. The butterknife's "hotrods" running in the tip and tails of the board provide the support and enough stiffness to counter the rocker shape and still allow you to pop some sweet ollies after a press.

Definitely will take some getting used to for me since I have only ridden traditional camber all mountain boards, but for me I love it so far. There is definitely a skate feel to it. SOO if you want to ride a skateboard equivalent in the snow, this is the beast for the job.

I bought the 149 and weigh 170 but I would even consider the 146 just for kicks, because of how addictively playful this board is.

Really Fun and Versatile Board!

No hang Ups rocker is for real! Fun run buttering, pressing, recovering landings from spins.... This board is super forgiving and super fun to ride. The pop rods in the nose and tail give it pop for days, and the rocker'd tip and tail make it easy-peezy in powder as well

The swiss army knife of parkboards

If delicious butter smothered toast could snowboard, you'd find it killing it on the Rome Butterknife. It's no surprise considering how ridiculously buttery and playful it is. You'll find it in and out of the park leaving greased rails and stomped switch landings in its path of destruction. This board also has a serious side and is just about as versatile as a slice of bread in a sandwich shop. You dress it up with your style and enjoy. It's packed with skate style tech from the Skatecore Profiling (ollies and turns feel like a skate deck) to the Butterout transition zones (Elongated mellow contact points for ultimate rail grease-ability). The QuickRip multi contact point technology will give you some extra grip on icy runs and landings. Thanks to the single glass barrel (HOTROD) sandwiched in the core, you'll have more hops than Michael Jordan. I've also noticed a little better power transfer and reliabilty when landing heavy in the back seat. Due to the longer effective edge and blunted nose, you can size down a few cm from your normal deck. I was surprised at how well this thing did all around the mountain but due to the shorter length it won't float quite as well. If you are looking for a jibby spin-tastic adventure in and out of the park, I would highly recommend you take your toast a little more seriously.

I'm about 5'9" 180 LBS I've been having a blast on the 152 cm.

You'll feel like a piece of toast...

this board is so buttery! The Butterknife is definitely a park board, but doesn't sacrifice all-mountain ride-ability. The No Hang-Ups Rocker camber combined with the QuickRip sidecut keeps it super stable without losing that catch-free playfulness you want in a park board. It's also loaded with pop and ready to shred and jib anything in front of it!
