Rome Crail Snowboard - 2011

The Rome Crail Snowboard proves you don't need a trust fund to get a board that shreds the whole resort from pow runs to park laps. With a tip-to-tail wood Pop Core Matrix, mid-flexing feel, and a powerful yet easy-to-ride Hybrid Fun Camber shape, the Crail will take your riding to new heights without cashing out your bank account.

  • Hybrid Fun Camber profile uses a traditional-camber zone between your feet, with rockered tips and tails starting about an inch back of the contact points, for a ride that's both stable and easy to handle
  • Pop Core Matrix uses poplar and low-density woods for a durable, poppy, and smooth-flexing feel
  • StraightBiax laminate gives the board a forgiving, mellow feel that inspires confidence

Bottom Line: All-mountain madness, priced for the masses.

Hello. I am looking to buy the Rome crail but have a question

Hello.

I am looking to buy the Rome crail but have a question about sizing.

I am pretty short and heavy which kinda throws out the 'between your nose and chin' thing I think.

I am 170cm, 5ft 6in and 90kg, 198 lbs.

Will the 153 Crail be too short?

I guess I'd be classed as a beginner. I don't want to rent again and want a board that I won't 'outgrow' too soon.

Any help or recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Dave,

Yeah, the "between your nose and chin" thing worked 15 years ago but sh!t has changed. You're height and weight make you a bit of a difficult size. I for one have always felt that weight played more into sizing of a board than height does. However, you are a beginner so a longer, more stable board, is best. I'd say your ideal size is anywhere from a 154cm-156cm. I think you will be fine on a 153cm though. We're only talking a few cm plus you're just learning. I'd get it at this sick deal and try it out. If it feels too small or you just aren't into snowboarding, you can always send it back with our lifetime guarantee.

Does this board come in wide? What's the largest boot size

Does this board come in wide? What's the largest boot size this board supports without my toes or heels hanging of the edges of the board?
