Rome CrossRocket Snowboard
If you want one board for everything but with characteristics favoring the freestyle arena, the Rome CrossRocket Snowboard just may be your partner in all-mountain freestyle crime. - New NoHang-Ups Pop profile with 3D camber features a diamond-shaped cambered area between the feet that gradually lifts slightly and tapers to a point around near the contact points at the tip and tail; outside the diamond, the tip and tail curl to create a concave section that delivers a loose, pressable, and floaty feeling
- Single fiberglass barrel HotRods add pop by milling out the core under the bindings and placing the pop-enhancing additive directly into the board
- QuickRip sidecut uses advanced sidecut geometry to create extra contact points between the feet so it ride with hook-free comfort at low speeds and adds precise grip at high speeds
- ButterOut transition zones extends the transition zone around the outermost contact points for a freestyle-specific feel designed for playing around
- Basalt Impact Plates placed at inserts lengthen the CrossRocket's lifespan by protecting against breakage from heavy impacts on rails and landings

The Crossrocket is the first board from Rome with the No Hang Ups Pop 3D camber. Basically, it has positive camber between the feet and the No Hang Ups 3D profile out from the bindings to the nose and tail. This board is amazingly stable at high speeds, and the 3D profiling allows it to be playful and floaty in deep or choppy snow. Totally psyched that Rome introduced the 3D camber, however it can be both good and bad. The few times I've managed to get in in some deep stuff it performed amazingly well. The contoured base cuts through pow like a boat hull, and it really lets you get a good feel for the snow.
On the other hand, it can be extremely squirrely in icey conditions...which here in VT are generally the norm :)
I've had a few fast jump approaches where the board just slides right out underneath me and I end up on my ass. I think this is more to blame on the 3D profiling than poor edge hold. I've heard others mention this as well, and for this reason I don't think it would be as good in the park as say an Agent (which its stats are nearly identical to).
Overall, a super fun board, but it takes some real work to get used to the feel of the new camber, and it may be too frustrating for some riders. I spend most of my time on an Anthem SS, which could be why I haven't excelled more on the Crossrocket. Perhaps with some more soft stuff I'd enjoy it.
