Description

It's your turn to shine.

It seems that some snowboard manufacturers have completely forgotten that there are riders out there who don't spend every day hanging around in the terrain park. Rome hasn't. Its Women's Gold Snowboard is designed for everything from steep tree runs to mellow cruisers, both in deep snow and three weeks after the latest storm. This isn't your average all-mountain board, though. The Gold is faster, more powerful, and more precise than just about any women's board on the market.

The folks at Rome laid up the Gold with three zones of low-density wood with extended zones of poplar. This gives the Gold a stiff, powerful feel. They then added carbon Hot Rods at the tip and tail for added pop with a playful feel. Rome also added two additional mid-board contact points between offset sidecuts for added high-speed edge control or to make the board feel shorter and more playful at low speed.

The Gold uses Rome's all-mountain MtnPop hybrid rocker. The board is rockered underfoot and between the bindings, while the nose and tail are positive camber for added pop, response, and edge control. The base is Rome's high-end Sinterspeed base, which absorbs large amounts of wax for high-speed riding. The StraightTriax 30 laminate with 30 degree fibers is mellow enough to quickly adjust to changes in terrain and poppy enough to help boost you for bigger airs.
  • Rockered between inserts with camber at nose and tail
  • Almost twin shape
  • Quick Rip sidecut
  • HotRods stringers
  • Low-density wood and poplar core
  • Sinterspeed sintered base

REEEELIN' N DEALIN'

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my all time favorite board, been riding for 12 years, and I've never been on a board better than this one.

It is the epitome of everything I want in a snowboard. The contact to the ground, the pop, the way it floats through powder, this board is MONEY!

I'm 5'5" about 125lbs, I ride a 147cm and it's perfect for pow days and park days.

Hi - was looking at this board. I'm on the east coast, looking for an all mtn that has edge hold for ice. We get out west every other year, but it's mainly groomers and trees and the occasional powder day in NY/VT. Thoughts? Looking especially for some fun through the trees compared to my old board. Thanks!

I think this board can definitely hold an edge through the groomers and trees, (endless pow on the west coast), and in certain icy conditions, but since it's a rockered board, I don't think I'd really recommend it for east-coast riding in general due to it being a hybrid-camber; which doesn't hold "the best" edge or provide the max amount of stability (also due to it being a hybrid), and is usually better for floating on top of powder versus ice.

However, on that note, the few boards listed below will probably be perfect for what you're looking for (camber/hybrid-cored boards will be better for where and what you're riding)

On that note though, if you're planning on riding east and west coast, and having a board that's going to last a long time, then this Rome Gold is an awesome choice! (the 2015 version is a bit skinnier though, so you might want to check out the Rome Heist instead; which is another killer board with a little more flex)
