Powerful response for the steeps and forgiving flex for the treats are hard things to find in the same snowboard binding. The Rome Targa bindings have both of these and they are the pinnacle of adjustability— a dream come true.
Targa PF Highbacks feature a dual-layered design that deliver a snappy yet forgiving flex and lots of heelside support
Yes, I Cant InBase System makes wider stances comfortable with themselves by providing three different options—0 degrees, 2 degrees, and 3.5 degrees
SubBase V-Pad shock absorbers reduce impacts from hard landings, create a damper ride, and add more side-to-side flex
PF Adjust Ankle Straps utilize a low-profile shape and more adjustability than you may be able to swallow to ensure an anatomical and comfortable fit—with 9Times Ankle Strap positioning you can dial these in to even more customized amount of ankle support
ConFormist.4 Toe Straps with Toe Jam are super low-profile, tight-fitting, and extremely grippy
Adjustable heel and toe ramps along with up to 12 degrees of highback rotation give you the power to find the best possible fit
Tool-free strap and forward lean adjustments make for quick and easy changes on the hill
Bottom Line: A mountain-slaying match made in heaven—or wherever it is that they party for eternity.
Did not like the Cant system with 2 pieces to always be adjusting.. specially when you want to loosen up your bindings to wax the board. So if you aren't one to wax your board that often or don't mind always adjusting the two piece CAN'T SYSTEM well than its all GOOD!! Other than that the binding is great as usual like everyone says RomE makes a great binding! Love the ankle strap so CusH!
Whats the benefit of these over the 390 bosses? Also, if I ride a ride jackson boa size 9.5, which seems to run smaller than other companies boots, what size should I get?
They are nearly identical with the Targa's being a little stiffer/more responsive. Don't get me wrong, you will have no trouble taking park laps with the Targa's. I wear a burton size 10 boot with the "shrinkage" technology so supposedly the outer boot is only a size 9. I ordered the S/M but they were too small. I sent them back for the L/XL and they are perfect. I was concerned because they went up to size 14 but don't worry they will fit your 9.5 boa's.

Did Rome change the flex profile of the Targa for this season? I noticed that the ankle strap is different, but the highback looks the same. I have an older pair and the flex is more stiff than medium.

From a visual standpoint these bindings are dope. The black/acid color combo looked downright punk on my artifact... Rome never disappoints in this category. The problem I ran into was with the sizing/adjustability. Instead of having three sizes, Small, Medium and Large like most manufacturers, Rome offers only two sizes S/M and L/XL, with frames that slide back and forth to adjust to sizes within a wide range. I tried both the S/M and the L/XL with my size 9 foot and could not get the bindings to conform to my boots properly on either. The S/M's were too small at max setting, and the L/XL's on the size 8-10 setting put my foot too far forward causing chop when carving heelside. Adjusting to 10-12 got rid of the chop, but left me with too much slack on my toe strap. I couldn't get them to stay on my toes.
Bottom line is that I want a simple binding that feels like it was custom made for my size foot and boots. This binding proves that with infinite adjustability you can have too much of a good thing. I went back to my trusted Burton Cartels which are lighter, cheaper and fit my Vans boots way better, even though I hate Burton, and continue to ride Rome boards.
The Burton Clash does not have the ICS Channel system, so these bindings will be compatible with it. The disc it comes with will work with the Clash. You don't need a special disc for the 3 hole pattern.
Nice flex profile, awesome adjustability. The cant system makes all day riding much more comfortable. I ride with a 9.5 libertine on the l/xl's, and they fit just fine.
Well I've ridden the 390's and loved them. Now I was a bit optimistic with the " I can't bed." They are a bit weird to set up compared to the Ride bindings which I also have. Overall the Targas are very good. Rome has once again out done them selfs.
I honestly think I prefer the ride set up. A lot simpler and better cushioning. I have the targa's and a pair of contrabands and I prefer my contra's over the targa's.
I've rocked a lot of bindings... Ride Spi's, Burton Cartel's, Union's but these blow them all out of the water. The flex is probably in-between medium and medium stiff and is perfect for both freeriding and all mountain-freestyle. The adjustability is insane. These are the best bindings I've ever ridden. Once Union keeps up with the canting and the adjustability they might be as good but not yet!
