Description

Show off that wild style of yours.

For its top-shelf Women's freestyle board, the Wildcat, Rome didn't hold back anything. The full wood core with bamboo stringers gives the Wildcat a smooth, predictable, soft flex that adds the confidence to take your park riding to the next level.

The Wildcat uses Rome's innovative No Hang-Ups hybrid camber. The Wildcat is flat under and between the bindings, which provides plenty of edge control. At the tip and tail, Rome added its scoop-shaped 3D rocker, which virtually eliminates hooked tips and tails. Finally, it added elongated Butterzones at the tip and tail for additional forgiveness and a smoother feel.

The folks at Rome laid up the Wildcat with tried-and-true wood laid tip-to-tail. Two zones of lightweight wood team up with poplar for smooth, predictable flex and loads of pop. Then they added bamboo rods at the tip and tail to stiffen them up a bit and add even more pop to the mix. Rome's designers also added fiberglass impact plates under the binding inserts to eliminate compression caused by high-impact landings, and finished off the Wildcat with a durable, easy-to-repair, extruded XTRD base.

  • Flat camber with concave rocker at tip and tail
  • Almost twin shape
  • Fiberglass impact plates
  • Bambooster bamboo stringers
  • Pop core matrix
  • XTRD extruded base

Great jib board

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got to ride this version of the Wildcat and the Lo-Fi Rocker at the on-snow demo this year and I loved them both. The Lo-Fi Rocker stands out as a more all-mountain board for me as I preferred the stiffer flex for doing everything. That being said, the Wildcat is an EXTREMELY fun jib board. I was able to ride about 10-15 boards that day and the Wildcat was by far my favorite softer board. I am 5'9" 155 lb and rode the 149 and I was amazed at how stable it was while still being super buttery. Definitely recommend this board if you are looking at shredding the park this winter!
