I'm thinking of picking up this board, but I'm not sure about the serrated edge. I've never ridden that kind of edge before, can someone give me some feedback on it?

Thanks man. I've heard of magnetraction before, but totally didn't make the connection that it was the serrated edge. Should have done a smidge more research. I planned on doing some minor detuning as it seemed like magnetraction would be rather aggressive.

The Magnetraction is what we call the serrated edge. It's the equivalent of having snow tires on your vehicle. you hit that unexpected patch of ice and instead of crashing, you ride it out. Mervin Mfg that makes these boards won over 10 Transworld Good Wood awards with this design on every board. Not to mention the many, many other awards from previous seasons.
My advice it to de-tune each of the 7 contact points (per side) so the board releases from a turn easier. That means to file down the sharpness of the edge at every high-point just a bit.
You will be happy the board has the serrated edge, it's pretty much what makes the C2 Banana tech work as well as it does!

Fast smooth riding all mountain board. Quick turns and good edge hold when you want it. I don't find it grabby at all. Rides well in all conditions- powder to some of those smoother runs. I haven't had any problem with the scratches or chipping, so far.

Hi there, super keen to get my hands on this board. Wondering if it will be long enough though. I'm 5"8 and about 80kg. Female. Mainly after an all mountain board that wont be too biased towards powder or otherwise. Any ideas if the 153 will be long enough for me?

Hi there, I am currently riding on a roxy board that is 3 years old now but its got the same camber and serrated technology. I am 5'5" at about 145lbs and I ride the 147. The board comes up to around my chin. Hope that helps!!

i love everything about this board...except it chips way too easily. i'm not rough with it and the edges are very chewed up. however, it was a model from 2 or years ago, so hopefully that doesn't happen as much.
