Your backcountry dreamship.
Based on the legendary pow-specific shape of Salomon's Derby Snowboard, the Salomon Split Splitboard keeps you floating on snorkel-deep days with its tapered twin shape and Flat Out Rocker profile. While most split boards feature a directional shape, the Salomon Split keeps you centered along the effective edge with a slightly pulled-in tail for easy float without sacrificing its ability to grip on hardpack, should you encounter sketchy snow in the backcountry. The 147 and 156-centimeter boards feature 10-millimeters of taper, while the 162-centimeter board has 12-millimeters of taper for a bit more float.
Available in three distinct sizes, the 147-centimeter Split uses Salomon's Rocket Science shaping, allowing you to ride a much smaller board in the backcountry for less fatigue on the skin up. This unique shaping widens the board for enhanced float without the weight of a longer board, giving you a downsized rocket for slicing through tight trees and chutes.
Inside this backcountry ripper, you'll find an Aspen SLCT core that's composed of FSC-certified wood for lightweight performance. Popster core profiling gives the Split extra boost when you're snapping ollies, while rugged ABS sidewalls withstand regular thrashings when you're clanking 'em together in touring mode or bumping into branches and stumps. Additionally, you'll find Salomon's fastest Sintered EG base that's finished with Electra for unparalleled glide over a wide variety of snow conditions in the backcountry. Note that the Split comes with custom skins to maximize touring efficiency.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I'm new to splitboards this year, I've toured a little with snowshoes but this is a much better option. This board floats well in deep snow and is very fun to ride. It has a medium flex which I love because I have a freestyle background. I originally got this board because it came in a shorter size (156) but I'm glad I got this board. I have ridden it a handful of times and can't get enough of this board, I would recommend it to anyone.
