Doesn't do well with Bass

I compared the Aviators to my beloved Hesh headphones and while the Aviators where super comfortable with their super soft foam earpads and extremely crisp clear sound, it lacked the ability to bump good bass. If you don't listed to Old School Hip-Hop or Dubstep then these would be perfect, but I love my bass so I'll stick with the Hesh's which are still pretty dang comfortable and have fantastic sound and good bass.

skulls

a good piece. and for zero percent off, who could refuse??

mucho take it easy

First thing first, the Aviators are sick! I have gauged ears and normally have a hard time wearing headphones like this because of the pressure it puts on them. However, these earcups are so plush that it doesn't bother me at all. The included carrying case is a bonus for sure and keeps my Aviators looking fresh. Sound quality is great and the speakers are impossible to blow (trust me, I've tried).

All day every day

These are the most comfortable phones I've ever worn. My ears usually start to hurt after 30 minutes with most phones but I regularly wear these for the entire work day without a problem. They also have a great look and the included pouch has me tossing them in my messenger bag or pack whenever I'm heading out of the house and might want to listen to or watch something. The mic controls are great for phone calls and music control on my iPhone and Macbook Pro.

The quick

Here's the deal... If you listen to any music with a lot of base, or you like heavy base don't get these. Also the mic if you are on the phone is less than ideal, ie it sucks. They work, have decent sound, and the best part is that they fold up nice for travel.

Comfortable

I use these everyday/all day and they are super comfortable. They drown out pretty much all noise around you. The bag they come in makes it very easy to travel with them as well.

Good not Great

Please oh please dont take the three stars as an insult, because Im not trying to degrade these headphones. I am not. The fact is, is that I believe these headphones live up to the hype theyve been getting. And trust me, Im thrilled I finally have found a decent sounding rapper can. Unlike Dre's glorified beats, I found that skull candy resisted the urge to bring a tremendous amount of bass into the picture, and for that Im very thankful. The issue with headphones like beats, is that they are very overpriced for the quality of sound, I know now a days teenagers want tons of base to compliment their rap and techno music, but making horrendous sounding headphones isn't the way to go. Fundamentally, I have a big problem with people like Dre, 50, and Ludacris excentuating the low end of their headphones, because, if people want lots of bass now, (which by the way I do not,) Then producers and artists should step up and mix it with extra base in the studio! Honestly. BUT. Skullcandy like I said, did not. Both this headphone, and their new Mix Master Mike's sound suprisingly good. NOT GREAT, BUT GOOD. If you didn't know, if you want a good sounding headphone, simply look at the AKG, Koss, Bose, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, even Sony and Phillips web sites, and I think you will be pleasantly suprised with the choices they offer. I dont recommend this headphone to anyone, but if you want a decent sounding rapper can, get these. The sound is smooth and clear, with a strong spectrum of sound, and reasonably nuetral response. ONE NOTE THOUGH. These headphones do not isolate sound worth crap. Its hard to even call them a closed headphone, so with that said. I'd never use these in public when lots of people are around you. which honestly sort of defeats the purpose of all the overexaggerated cosmetics.... yeah, so if I were you, I wouldn't buy these, really ever...

Um. WOW.

These are the best over ear headphones I have ever owned. You could stop here and just buy these. Now.

But, for those wondering. The comfort is out of this universe. I could keep these on my head for 3 hours and I wouldn't be able to tell. The sound is excellent and the cord length is just long enough. The mic3 is also really useful for answering/talking on the phone as well as having a volume control.

A few observations. The mic3 is awesome, but only works completely with Apple products. A stereo jack converter does not come with it either.

Like I said, just buy these. Now. You won't regret it.

some of the best out there

these headphones are amazing, no lie! If u love to hear every thing in your music, and not have an over powering bass these are for u. cuz think u could by a $300 dollar pair of beats wich suck, its just a sub woffer for your head, and are only worth $80. plus these things are just beautiful no headphones look this good. if u like bose u will love these u can buy a bose head phones for the same price and they sound the same. i mean yea the bose will last u like 10-15 years but these have a life time warrenty so cant go wrong. there just as comfortable, sound just as good and look so much better. so why not get em.

Great Headphones

Just got these last night and listened to a bunch of different songs on them to get a feel for them. First off, like everyone else says, these are probably the more comfortable headphones I've ever worn, and they look really really good (I have the brown and gold).

The sound is very good, but not mind blowing like I was hoping for. Honestly it's a little better than my $75 sony ear buds, but not a ton better. However, the whole package, makes these my first choice now for listening to music. I had the volume pretty high and wife said she could only hear the music a little. So, not noise cancelling so you probably can't listen at top volume on the airplane, but not so bad that a little lower volume would be a problem.

Like a pilot

Feel like a pilot with these - great sound and in control!! Great product!!

The Best. Espescially with an iPhone

When Skullcandy teamed with Jay-Hova to create headphones for straight up audiophiles, they didn't miss. The Aviators are the most comfortable over-ear headphones I have ever used and the sound is incredible. Plus, if you have an iPhone, the remote that controls that volume, track and takes a phone call on the convenient nylon covered cord is a plus. I would be the perfect headphone if the mic/volume remote worked as well with the emerging Android phone community, but after they hear the sound, they won't complain. Finally, the looks don't hurt either with an elegant mix of old-skool style and modern materials.
