Blast the few brain cells you have left with the Skullcandy Hesh Headphones. Skullcandy gave these ‘phones an eardrum-pounding 50mm power driver and a sound-boosting dome shape for skull-shattering clarity at a ridiculous price. The supple leather headwrap and earcups make the demise of your hearing a soft and pleasurable experience. Adjust the in-line volume control to hear what the old dude babbling to himself on the back of the bus is saying, then turn the tunes back up when you realize his end of the world routine is a little stale.
Good headphone, good quality! Cancels noise pretty well so I like to use them on the plane and in car rides. If worn for an extended period of time they do start to pinch your ears/: but overall good headphone!
in my opinion, this is THE best buy u can get from skullcandy. sound quality is almost on par wit the 150 dollar SK Pros. these r mad durable. Im a bass guy and theses fufill my needs lol. high end is pretty good too
Thanks for the question. Comparing the Skullcandy Hesh Headphones - 2011 to the Hesh 2s is easy to do as the Hesh 2s have the Supreme Sound as Skullcandy had revamped their sound for 2012. The difference is pretty apparent as the bass is mellowed slightly and the surrounding other channels come through much better, especially vocals. Certainly a different sound than 2011 versions.

the sounds quality is great and the graphics are sick. i use mine all the time and never have problems. they fit comfortably over my ears and block out most other sounds. they maintain sound quality even when your really rockin out and make it loud.
I tend to break headphones, often. Usually by falling asleep with them and wrecking the cord, or catching it on something and wrecking the cord, or by crushing my headphones in my bag, or some other disaster, but these ones are holding up pretty well so far. I've already managed to sit on them a couple times, and catch them on my bedroom door handle countless time-which has ruined three other ehadphones that i can recall-but these guys are holding up solid. Better yet, they sound AMAZING for the price. the bass is solid, and they can get pretty loud, which I am a big fan of.
Finally, first sign of wear, the right ear piece is starting to come off the can, I just have to slide it back on from time to time when they are traveling in my bag. Doesn't affect the sound or comfort in wearing them.
Have been using these almost non stop since I bought them, and amazing enough, they are still holding up PERFECTLY. I've dropped them and had them in my back pack in my trunk while I drove around, even fallen in them a few times, and all I have to show for it all is some minor scratches on the casing. These are the best headphones I've ever bought, especially for the price.
Pretty good sound quality, and i really think that skull candy is an over rated company, i do use there ear phones alot, i was actualy impressed by the durability and the sound quality of them.
Awesome service and warranty. Headphones cracked and called DogFunk. They looked up my purchase, gave me a link to review the headphones. Gave me a choice of FULL Refund or credit towards new headphones! Where else can you get this? Certainly not Best Buy! And also to mention, these are AAwESOME headphones!!!!
Had these for almost a year now, sound quality isn't as good as my Skullcrushers but they have proved themselves with their durability, I've brought these on many trips around the world, jamming them in my pack and such. Sound quality is pretty good, I just wish they would fold up somewhat because they aren't the most portable when stuffin in my pack.
Great for the mountain. But on those cold days, beware taking them on and off alot because they 'might' break when you pull them apart a little. But i'm on my second pair, sound is awesome. Plenty of complements from people.
(and by cold i mean Minnesota cold = -10 without windchill.)
i just ordered a new pair of these after the ear pad slipped out of place, i had the rasta ones before. i ordered a pair of blue ones this time and now im left wondering, what the hell happened to the in line mic. are they only on the rasta ones? its really starting to piss me off
These are the best headphones ive ever had. They have amazing sound quality and great bass. If you want crazy bass that shakes your head then get the skullcrushers, they have built in subwoofers, but lack the sound quality and durability of the hesh. So if you want to hear parts of your songs that you've never even heard before, get these ones.
the sound quality and bass is pretty good compared to some other headphones but 4 weeks after i got these i was on a road trip to colorado and the right speaker just cut out and it comes in and out but never stays for too long
Dude Skullcandy has a lifetime warranty. And if you got these bad boys via Dogfunk they have their own lifetime warranty. Send those puppies back and get yourself a new one!

I dug around online, and this is the cheapest you can get these headphones (the exception being the ugly tiger stripe ones, which I found for 30) with no shipping (as long as you buy something else for >$10). They actually sound pretty great, especially with bass-heavy music. Also, when you take 'em off and turn the volume all the way up they actually sound really good... like better than my laptop's speakers. They're a tiny bit uncomfortable if you wear them for a long time, but it hasn't been a problem for me, though I have heard other people complain hard about the comfort issue. If you like the style, I'd pick them up. If you think they look ugly, you can find ones with the same sound quality that are a little more comfortable for the same price.
Sound is great, but I dont like the small hard to feel dial for volume. I prefer slide style controls. Also I got the black and white cause the pic showed it looking grey, but its really black and BRIGHT white. Ill post a pic to show you. I dont really like the color, but now right after I bought it, I see dogfunk got a shipment of actual grey, AND some sweet brown ones. Wish I would have waited a few weeks.... SIGH.... :( I posted a pic under the other Hesh listing.
Bought a pair of these a few months back, and upon hearing them for the first time, I thought they were defective. They are all bass, with almost no high end. The result is a muted sounding earphone, that leaves a lot to be desired.
I got used to this, and do appreciate the bass, but my old cheapies had a better tonal range than these.
Not long after I bought them, they snapped in half. The insert that allows them to extend to fit large noggins is paper thin, and if they take a knock while they are in this position, they're screwed.
Despite that, I was still able to use them by taping them up. But now, it has 2 loose contacts - one at the jack, and the other where the cord enters the ear - resulting in one or both sides dropping out.
And if style is important, look in a mirror before a pair of Hesh. I feel like a frigging wanker walking down the street with these on. It looks like I'm wearing 2 painted grapefruit halves.
Skullcandy did not reply to my first warranty claim on these, and I'm about to make a 2nd. Lets hope this time they get back to me.
Better would be the skull crushers, especially if you like bass. These headphones have an amp to power the sub in each headphone. Turn the bass all the way up and the headphones will acutally vibrate. Thats what I use for boarding and walking around campus.
There about the same really, i personaly would look up the specs on both and see what they say for what you like, there style is about the same, so maybe get the ones with the color you like most
I got these for christmas i love the sound quality and how good the bass is but after a few weeks they cracked then snapped on the part that extends out for a wider head. I do really like them and i take really good care of them i only used them for around the house things or at my school. I was NEVER rough on them but im on my 2nd pair and they did the same thing so im probably gonna try a different model and see how well the durability is. BOTTOM LINE GREAT SOUND BUT NOT SO GREAT DURABILITY BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU EXTEND THEM OR THEY WILL SNAP LIKE A TWIG
These phones are bomb when it comes to audio quality, but are pretty harsh on my ears. I use them mostly when i'm editing footage and sit with them on for hours straight while they slowly push and rub on my ears. Also, my pair just cracked due to the all plastic expansion slider (why skullcandy thought that'd be a good idea...) Quality is awesome and the bass kicks great. If you're looking to buy, weigh quality vs comfort.
fantastic set of cans. havent had them to long but they seem to be really durable as far as plastic goes. sound quality is unparralleled for the price as far as i know! great bass pretty good high range. the only reason these arent a five star- ive got a rly fat head and they're pretty tight. they stick to mah dome great but they cause a slight headeache after a while. PS great noise cancellers! electric animals ftw they're sick. Probly to big for shredin but great headphones i love em
Had these for about a month and for the price the sound is great and they look awesome in Electric Animal. Usually after 2 months or so one of the speakers on my headphones drop out... so will wait and see how these go....
While I like the noise cancelling ability of my Titan Buds, these are way more comfortable over periods of long listening. Sound quality is above average. Pick them up on sale and you can't go wrong.
I own both pairs, I've had my Hesh's for about six month now, and they have held up amazingly, longest lasting cans I've ever owned, one of the ear pads is just starting to show wear, and I use them every day. The sound is great, bass kicks, and they get pretty loud, I am absolutely pleased with them. The skullcrushers on the other hand I will never buy again, they need a AA battery to run, and the bass doesn't even sound good, it's more of a vibration, but the thing is, I can hear all the hinges of the skullcrusher rattle agains my head. I think they are total garbage. The only plus I see in them, is they collapse really well, so they don't take up much space above my closet, where they have sat after only two days of use. Plus, the battery is bulky and on your cable, it has to clip on you somwhere, and I kept getting ti in the way of things I was doing. Hesh, FTW!
These killer phones block out noise like a brick wall and have suck great clarity, i have actually heard things in a few of my songs that iv never noticed before... They look extremely sweet too
These headphones are realy great and have very good sound esp bass. the volume control on the lead is useful. But if you have ears that arent tiny the padding will feel small and hurt your ear after 30min. if you wear over a beanie then no worries.
The Hesh headphones sound pretty good for the price. The problem is that if you plan on wearing them for more than an hour or two, they start to bother your dome. So these might not be the greatest for long air plain rides. Love the in-line volume and colors. Seem pretty durable so far...
Pretty sick headphones. I got the norcal ones..great for shredding tahoe! Good sound quality, probably rivals my 8 year old Bose noise canceling stereo headphones. So far they seem pretty durable as well, I've taken them out 3 days so far, 1 day in powder, and the composite leather seems to handle snow pretty well.
I was kinda skeptical buying these, but for the major discount I got on Brociety.com I couldn't resist. I've been through several sets of various kinds of headphones at my job, and the Heshes are easily the best. They cover my entire ear and pretty much drown out any outside noise, which is impressive as I sit on a riding lawnmower alot. usually I don't pump up the volume too much (because I don't need to in order to easily understand my tunes, even over the grrrrring of the mower) but I know that I can without worrying about blowing out the speakers.
Fantastic buy, unless you want some ear buds. these are definitely not for the incognito.
I love these headphones for a few reasons... first of all the sound quality is absolutely amazing, secondly they are very comfortable, and they look good too. i would recommend these to anyone that loves music and wants to only hear there music with no interferance from the outside world
I've had my heshes (?) for about a year now, one headphone hinge broke, but that was just glued and it was fine. But now there's hairline fractures on the parts that slide out and you can tell they're broken when you wear them. The thing is, I was not hard on these headphones at all. I'll try for Skullcandy 50% warranty though.
my experience is bad sound quality(cant expect much out of skullcandy) very cheap plastic(no wonder they have such a great warranty) and poor durability i would say only buy these if you want something to take your anger out on when you get pissed off
I love these headphones soooo much! The sound is amazing and I think they sound better than the Aviators if you are listening to music with bass! I wear these 8 hours a day, 5 days a week at work and have no complaints except they do get a little sore on the ear cartilage after a while, but what headphone doesn't? I will definitely get another pair when this one dies. I'm on my 3rd year with the same ones so these are lasting a long time!
Meh. If you want to listen to anything other than New Boyz, you may want to keep looking. All you're gonna get is some muddy bass sounds, a bit of mid, and you can kiss hi's goodbye. After a half-day in the work cube, my ears and head hurt from pressure points. They do look awesome though. If you like your headphones blasting while they sit like a necklace on your shoulders...these are it! Catch 'em on sale for the style points.
