The Skullcandy Pipe Audio Dock is the conduit through which premium sound flows through on its way to your ears. Compatible with any iPod style, the Pipe cranks it up to eleven whether you’re at your desk or grilling on the back deck. Two side speakers provide the noise, and the included remote control lets you change songs without peeling your ass off the chair.
for 70 bucks i def think u could get better sound than this. all you get it a cool little pipe that says skullcandy on it that plays music terribly. it doesnt really get that loud and the sound isnt filling at all. it does look cool if thats something that matters to you.. its also alot smaller thatn you would think from the pictures
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. I was unsure of how the blue would look since the product photo looks very...fake. It has a rubbery finish so it doesn't show smudges. The volume controls are on either side of the dock...you just touch them, no button pressing necessary.
It's smaller than I thought it would be, but the sound fills an apartment surprisingly well. I really just wanted it for noise while cooking and cleaning, and for that it is perfect. Also great for trips or for when laptop speakers aren't loud enough or livening up coworkers on mediocre days. Good price for versatile, mobile, great sounding audio. Oh, it looks cool too.
there's an oval shaped peg near the battery door (it's also what you fasten the little rubber stopper to). if you slide it to the side then the battery door will pop open. The peg can fall out and if it did I would try to shove a tooth pick into the hole where it used to be and slide it left and right and maybe it will pop open
love their headphones, but I would think about the next level up on one of these. wish the sound was as good as it looked. speakers quit after 20 minutes of play on avg sound level.
"I love it" are the words that seep from my teenager's mouth as he talks about it. "It's small, light, and loud," and the remote is "bomb diggity" for going to sleep or deciding to "rock out" in bed.
Whoda thunk in 2010 -- I'd be buying a Pipe from Skullcandy through Dogfunk.com AND it's legal and both parent and teen are happy!
It will work with an iPOD touch, however it will not charge it. I am not sure why skullcandy can't charge the iPHONE nor iPOD touch, but it will still play. The pipe will charge any other iPOD, just not the 2 fore mentioned.
i have the black one and i love it. its great for traveling and small enuff to pack inside of anything.. if your looking for a boom box then go buy one but if your looking for something to jam to while stuck n a hotel or to have in your room i recommend it for sure. I just ordered the chrome one as a gift to a friend...
I honestly didn't expect much when I bought it, but I did expect it to be bigger. The small size (1.75" around X 7.75" long) made me expect even less. And even though I got it for during a great sale, I was feeling slighted. With the attitude of, "Oh well, let me plug it in and see how pitiful it is," I plugged the AC adapter into the wall and the aux cable into my Samsung phone. Whoa, that sounds pretty nice, much much much better than the small package would suggest. The sound is quite clean with just enough highs and mids. I certainly didn't expect much bass, and there isn't much, but for the size the bass is represented decently. So then I selected a sound with a fair amount of bass hits and low long tones and cranked it full blast. It doesn't even distort much. The really deep tones sort of disappear, which was expected. It displays a little noise but not enough to make you want to turn it down. It's more than loud enough for it's size. Easily loud enough to enjoy while cleaning a small house with all the rooms open. Overall, 1.75 thumbs up. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its longevity. Worth the money I paid, but $70 is too much.
Let it be known that my review was based on the Pipe compared to it's size and price. Of course there are way better sounding devices, but not many, if any that size and price. If you compare it to larger systems at that price, the Pipe would llikely lose. For me it is perfect for why I bought it: playing in the garage while working on stuff and for travel.
I bought these and at first loved them however the quirky tripped, stumbled, and eventually fell straight into a pile of shi+. First the right speaker started not working then to ac adapter failed completely. So I thought whatever ill buy some batteries and use that option. This worked for a while and then boom gone, useless. I have since tried to email skull candy numerous times to no avail.
Im sure there are many non faulty units out there however if your going to buy this know that your taking a risk and you might be left with nothing.
If steez is your middle name then This shiznit is for yOu. It's Hella portable and pretty loud and an all around awesome ghetto blaster for the slopes fits easy in backpack or even pocket. I wAs stoked when mine came and felt like a kid At Christmas
I use this pipe a lot and the sound is great! I just wish it had a little more bass and didn't have a very slight buzz when left on but not in use. I like the pipe though and will continue to use it.
