Riot Ear Buds Satisfy

Bought these for my wife to replace the stock iPod buds. The Riot's stay put and provide good listening quality. She is "fiscally conservative" and feels the Riot's were a great value.

Good for the Price

They were ok not the best but for the price they did their job well and if i only had 20 bucks for a pair of headphones i would go with these for the price........ but i like the Titans more they have better sound quality and block out other noises a little better

Do they have volume control on the cord?...

How do these do while running? Stay in the ear?

Better than expected

Good sound, fit nicely in the ear and comes with three different size rubber attachments to change in case you want to be more comfortable. The isolation from outside noise is really good.

powerful little things..

purchased about 6 of this little earphones to give as stylish yet capable gifts to my friends & cousins..
at first try, it already blew me away..

sounds come out very clear and isolated (which is both good and somewhat bad)..
on the box it says to use the lowest volume possible, which is true, unless you want your eardrums to burst -- seriously they isolate and direct the music to your ear that well..

if you're listening to music, you'll notice sometimes sounds are more prominent on the right ear, sometimes on the left, not sure if this is good, but you'll definitely hear your music unlike before.. funny, when watching YouTube, there are videos that only record sound on the left side (hence nothing to hear on the right ear bud)..

the ear contours are good, but even with the smallest possible option, i can't stand it rubbing against my ear canal (guess i have very sensitive ears)..

what i didn't like is you have to rip the package before getting to the item.. you have no place to store the extras if you mangled the case.. wish it came with a small pouch or something..

but hey, for the price, it's well worth it..
go get some (if i didn't buy 'em all already).. :-)

Shocks my ears when I move

The product sounds good, but I use them at work, and every so often when I shift in my chair, they crackle and I get a little shock in my ears. I guess it could just be static electricity, but it didn't happen with my other ear buds, and it's pretty freaking annoying. So, they're going back.

Responded on

the "shock" is probably a short---not static. I'd probably stop wearing them :^) unless you've already died from electrocution--then this post won't really help....

Stay in Tiny Ears, Good Sound

For $20 this is a good deal. I've been using shitty "over ear" style ear buds for a few years with my ipod, because conventional ear buds don't even come close to fitting in my tiny ear holes. This go "in" your ear, and while they certainly get sore after wearing for more than an hour, they have much, much better sound quality than the outer ear ones. The best part is on planes - they pretty much block everything out. They do pop out easily though if you snag the (super long) cord on anything.

Hot Garbage

Initially, I thought these were a good buy -- noise canceling headphones for under 20 bucks. After I had them for a week, the wires coming from the headphone jack connector started fraying inside the rubber casing. Having only one side of the headphones work just isn't cool, so I took em back to the store I bought them from. They gave me a new set for free, so I figured I was in the clear.

A few weeks later, same problem. For a while, I jerry-rigged a duct tape splint, and taped the wire to my ipod so it wouldn't move. Eventually, that didn't even work, and then the other headphone quit working about a month later. Since when did reliability indicate a manufacturer's willingness to replace a shitty product indefinitely rather than just make a good one in the first place?

I almost guarantee they will fail some time within your first year of owning them. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. Do yourself a favor and get something else (like Creative Labs EP-630s, they're everything these aren't). Something that ISN'T made by money-grubbing, product-placement, "cool factor" skull candy.

Responded on

the same thing just happened to me -- and i don't have the receipt anymore! arrgghhh..do you kknow if there's any other way to get them fixed..like to attach another jack or something?

Responded on

Same thing happened to me. The straight-out from the jack connector is not a good design - can't take any stress. Too bad, but they did last a few months, for $20, you make the call.

I know what you're thinkin "How good are they?"

wAy better than starburst...no joke.
imagine your in outerspace...
gettin nookie...
gettin high....

these aren't as good as that, but they're close.

How is the bass with these earbuds?

How is the bass with these earbuds?

Responded on

Low-Freq response is terrible on these, compared to and equivalently priced pair of Creative Labs headphones. Try to find some EP-630s -- everyone I've let use them couldn't believe they were only 30 bucks.

Also, the rubber part that blocks out noise on these buds is awkwardly stiff. Not a plus.

Great Ear Buds

I bought 5 pair of these in different colors so that everyone in the family has their own set and own color. They have worked great and are very comfortable.
I never liked headphones because the pressure on my ears used to give me a headache. The earbuds don't cause the pressure so I can wear them for hours and not get a headache.

Nice buds

These have great sound, but my only complaint is that they block out noise so you cant listen to music and talk to someone at the same time.when i wear them I feel a little too isolated

Responded on

Thats the point of these head phones.

better than ipod ear buds

i admit i got these because they looked groovy and all, but they are far better than the ipod ear buds in both fit and sound quality. only complaint is that they pick up sound kind of like a stethoscope - all sounds w/in the wiring (like movement) instead of just the music.
