Description

Your dream lines await.

Winning the highly acclaimed 2014 Transworld Good Wood award for all-mountain boards, the Slash Straight Snowboard is back for its second year of pillow-popping, pow-ripping, backcountry-slaying goodness. Highly directional in flex and shape, point this board down natural lines or steep chutes filled with deep powder. The longer, rockered nose allows you to surf through deep stuff without submerging, and a slightly stiffer tail gives you the stability needed to slash turns and stomp landings with authority. A Backseat CamRock profile is utilized to float through powder and slay dream lines that lesser boards wouldn't dare venture. This profile blends camber between the bindings with rocker at both the nose and tail.

Providing additional bite when turning, Reactive Flex gives this board the stability you need to drop in on Valdez-style chutes or fly across open faces at insane speeds. This technology allows the board to flex across the length and width. When initiating hard turns, the board's edges flex downward—giving the board more grip and a longer contact length. Ultimate Traction provides additional edge hold by placing a small, counter-radius bump in the middle of the board's sidecut. The end result is increased stability, as the rider doesn't have to rely solely on nose and tail contacts for edge hold.

Within the inside of this board, you'll find a Forever Wood core made of paulownia, spruce, beech, and poplar wood. This four-way wood blend reduces weight while increasing pop and response. Slick Tip construction within the nose and tail reduces even more weight, substantially lightening your load for hiking and riding backcountry lines. Reinforced with carbon/Kevlar® Landing Strips running from the tips to inserts, this snowboard will exhibit high levels of stability when hauling at high speeds. Speaking of high velocity, a sintered 9900 base is included for the fastest glide of any base available. This performance base holds large amounts of wax and holds up to abuse with its impact-resistant, super-dense structure.

  • Directional shape, directional flex (stiffer tail), setback .8 inches
  • Backseat CamRock: Longer rocker at nose, camber between bindings, rocker at tail
  • Paulownia, spruce, beech, and poplar wood core
  • Landing Strip: two strips of carbon/Kevlar® placed from tips to inserts
  • Reactive Flex: edges flex downward while turning, elongating contact length
  • Reduced wood and fiberglass in nose and tail
  • Ultimate Traction small, counter-radius bump in middle of board
  • Aluminum tip & tail protectors
  • Sintered 9900 base

Board Charges

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I rode this board all last season and couldn't be more stoked on it. This board is really stiff and has a lot of pop. Floats through pow effortlessly thanks to the early rise in the nose of the board. Strait-lining on this board is almost cheating because its soo easy. The Board is a little bit wide for my feet, but I got used to it after riding it a couple of times. I am 5'9 165 and I ride the 161 cm. Rode really hard on this board last season and it didn't break. IF your into hitting cliffs and slashing pow, this snowboard will bring a smile to your face!

An All-Mountain Machine

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is easily one of the best snowboards I have ever had. I rarely write reviews for product, but felt the need to for this. The camrock profile really gives you stability between your feet, but the rocker tip and tail lets this thing thing float in powder, cut through choppy snow and still leave your back leg feeling like it did on your first run.

In relation to the Reactive Flex, I was a bit skeptical at first, but the Straight turns on a dime and holds that edge in every condition I have had this season so far.

If you are looking for a good looking, all-mountain machine, look no further.

Plus, how could you not support a legend like GiGi?
