The dudes you ski with don’t have dainty graphics and fleece-lined lids. And we bet they’re jealous.

Smith is really onto a good thing with the Women’s Intrigue Helmet. Because yes, it’s totally possible to pack the latest performance into a helmet that doesn’t look like a hand-me-down from your brother. In fact, the Intrigue Helmet looks downright sexy. Plus, supersafe Hybrid shell construction protects your imperiled noggin’ when you ski the trees, adjustable vents let you release some steam when you crank turn after turn, and a plush fleece lining feels awesome on the ears. Snap out the ear pads if you want to upgrade to an audio system, or just leave ‘em in as they are.

This helmet is so incredibly comfortable I often forget that I even have it on. It is super warm, super comfy and I have no pressure points what so ever. It is a perfect fit with my Smith Heiress goggles.

Great Helmet

I don't have a ton of experience with helmets - but this one is great as far as I'm concerned. Fits well and is super comfy inside. The vents are fantastic, kept my head warm on the freezing cold & windy nights and also let air in on warmer days to stop me from getting all sweaty. The 'white pearl' color is definitely more pearl - but the 'ivory keys' is a beige color - just fyi.

Perfect Helmet

This helmet is great, it doesn't feel like I have anything on my head but it keeps me real warm (and safe). My husband has a helmet that he has to take off and plugs have to be removed to open the vents; I was laughing at him on the slopes with my vent control just a slide of a level. It's awesome and matches my K2 board and bindings, too cool.

Good for your noggin'

Good looking helmet. Very comfy, my sister loves it. She is pretty bad at skiing, so it has already paid for itself.

Hi, how does this compare to the allure & venue models in terms of weight and other features? I'm confused as to which one to buy as they all fit well!

Editors Choice Award- Helmets

4.4 stars “For Retro Royalty”
Testers found this sliding vent system most effective but also loved the retro-pilot look of the ear pads and bling-bling embellishments such as gold-stripe accents and super-plush lining. Once you set its sliding adjustable fit system, which some testers found a little difficult to master, you’ll never have to tinker with it again, just as you’ll never need to worry your eyewear will slip from its rear goggle lock. One of this helmet’s nine available colors is sure to match your style, and its Snapfit ear pads accommodate any audio system as well. But its greatest intrigue: the fleece lining—unmatched in velvety comfort.

Awesome Helmet!

I used to have a Red helmet, which made me look like a giant Q-tip! I ordered this one after trying it on a few times in the store and I love it!!! It looks awesome, feels great, and is warm and fuzzy with vents for butter days.

Great helmet

Loved this helmet. Broke it in at Deer Valley and Park City with 4 fresh feet of powder. It kept my head and ears toasty warm. Felt totally comfortable. Best days of skiing.

I also tried this on at REI but they only had a brown color. I found this one at backcountry in hot pink and $70 cheaper! I love the color--you can identify me among all the black helmet heads. It also keeps your head and ears very warm, and I didn't overheat at all, even with vents closed. I don't like the chin strap very much since it's hard to adjust easily. It's very soft, but not the most intuitive clasp to adjust.

How do you get the ear flaps to come off of the helmet? Having trouble.

They should just snap in and out, I'm afraid this is the best image I could find:

Really snug but overall a great helmet

I tried on this helmet at REI and loved the fit but wanted the color from backcountry. The interior lining is really soft and nice but after skiing my ears were starting to really hurt by the end of the day. I loosened the strap and tried to flex the padding over the ears and it was definitely better for my second day, although not perfect. I am hopeful it will stretch out since otherwise this helmet is awesome and kept my head toasty warm on an extremely cold and windy day.So many helmets are black or white so having a bright color is really helpful on days with low visibility. My only other small complaint is that the outer surface is really slick so when you take your goggles off they don't easily rest on the brow of the helmet. Not a huge issue however.

Okay helmet, though a little bit tight

First impression of the helmet is that it is cute with the coloring and pretty comfy when put on the head. The real test came when I actually used it on the ski slop that when I straped my Smith I/OS goggle on the helmet, it tighten the helmet on my head and making it unbearable to wear. My head measurement was within the helmet's limit (22 3/4 inches which should fit in size Medium) but it was so uncomfortable to wear the helmet that I decided not to wear it half of the time I was there....
Also, the ventilations was great but not good when it's real cold on the slope. Half of the time I had to wear beanie instead of the helmet since I was feeling a very strong draft on my head and I was getting dizziness and lightheaded because the helmet was so vented.
In the end, I returned the helmet even though I really wanted to like it and keep it.

Great helmet

Love this helmet! Keeps my head and ears really warm and the fuzzy chin strap is so comfortable. Vents are great for warm days. The adjustable sizing makes sure I have a perfect fit. I have a small head (generally wear a youth L in baseball caps) and the small fits great. I got the white and its more a pearl white color.

Great Helmet!!!

This is a great, comfy helmet. I love the venting - when the vent is closed it keeps me toasty warm. Opening the vent allows any unwanted heat to escape. I love everything about it this helmet. I bought it in burgundy which really helps my family to identify me since I have a black jacket like 90% of all other skiers. This helmet comes in great colors and I'm glad that Backcountry carries some of the harder to find colors (you can find a black one just about everywhere) I also bought one for my 11 y.o. son and he loves it too!

Has a great fit, and easy adjustment, softest ear covers that don't dampen your hearing too much, lightweight and easy to forget you are wearing it, the easy adjusting vents make it perfect for all types of weather. I got the Burgundy Hunter and I have to say safety never looked so good!

Sweet helmet for girls

Helmet fits great. Chinstrap is super comfortable. The inner liner comes off so you can wash it which is great after a sunny ride sesh. Only downside is the "White wedding" has actual lace roses! Didn't expect that and had to return. Figured the white lace wouldn't stay white for long or might tear. If you're getting this helmet add the Skullcandy ear pads, they're comfy and actually have bass!

everything I wanted!

Warm, Light weight, The vents work great. The earflaps come off for the warm weather. It's everything I wanted in a helmet!

Sweet Helmet

I haven't had a chance to actually use the helmet yet but I will say it has the softest interior then any helmet I have tried. And it has a great fit! The only issue is it doesn't come with built in headphone and when you swap it out for the Skullcandy audio kit, you have to remove the super soft fuzzy inside...not cool. Might need to stick with my earbuds to keep the fuzzy...
