Knock on wood—the Smith Holt Helmet has you covered.

Use your head and get a helmet you can wear in the terrain park in winter or at the skatepark in summer—the Smith Holt Helmet. Airflow ventilation allows for seasonal climate control, and snap-fit ear pads remove easily when the weather is warm. Smith's AirEvac design pulls hot air from your goggles through under-shell vents, so you can ride fog-free all day.

bang for your buck

This helmet is one of the best in it's price range. It doesn't have a ton of vents, but the intake vents in the front do their job of circulating air through the whole helmet. It has a nice low profile design, with a slight lip brim to keep snow from getting jammed in your goggles. Have only used Smith goggles with it and the fit is great. It's lacking some adjustments found on higher end Smith Helmets, such as the retention system in the back of the Variant helmets. The ear flaps pop out which is nice for spring days. I have the matte finish, which doesn't scratch easily, and the shell takes some abuse in the rocket box with other gear.

comfortable helmet nice price

This helmet is one of the most comfortable helmets I have owned. Looks cool but a little big looking when I had it on. Returned it for a more low profile helmet the red skycap 11, which is not as comfortable but still protects and looks a little better. Plus the sky cap has a few more vents which is nice on spring day.

I already have a helmet that i wore last year, but i didn't like it because it looked way too big, I want a low profile helmet that still works well, is this helmet good for that catogory? ----thanks for answer.

Responded on

Yes this one is very low profile, or you can check out some of Bern's as well. Those are very low profile as well.

Responded on

This one is pretty good for a low profile helmet. It's one of the smaller ones out there; I was really close to buying this one before switching to the Giro Bad Lieutenant, just because it was cheaper.

Basically, it won't make you look like you have a mushroom head.

Super Sweet Head Gear

Wicked awesome helmet! This helmet has saved my life more than once. I can wear it all day without even noticing I have a helmet on. It's light and stylish. I LOVE it!

Im a first time helmet wearer never worn one. i thought this one looked cool and other people said it was good. anybody have any other recommendations? my goggles are a pair of Electric EG1's if that makes an difference.

This is a great helmet, Smith definitely knows what they are doing. Smith helmets fit with almost any goggle, so I doubt you will have a problem.

Good for kids, too big for adults

My 10 year old son wears the News Camo helmet in Medium and really likes it. We had to remove the ear pads, as they are just way too hot in the Seattle area. Instead, he wears a beanie underneath to protect his ears. I tried out the Black Matte in Large, and it was just way too huge. And the Medium was a bit too tight. For me, I replaced with the Giro Fuse (also L) and like it better overall - it's a more sleek appearance. I also removed my ear pads and wear a beanie underneath instead. The ear pads are likely best when it's <20-25F outside, as they are just way too warm once you're in the 30s.

Fantastic Brain Bucket!!

Fits great, warm as hell! Works great with the Smith OTG goggles, They be the only thing I found that keeps them fog free!!! I wish I had two heads so I could justify another Smif helmet!

been helmet shopping, currently skiing w a ProTec helmet I have used for windsurfing, so NO ear pads!! this helmet seems to be the 2 season ticket. so the summer pad kit: closed cell foam ? ie will it be good for water sports? thank you for your help !

Responded on

The summer kit is not closed cell foam, so would probably not be the best for water sports. However I wear this helmet for skiing and it rules.Overall, if you need a hat that has more bang for your buck, there may be better options out there for you.

Very sick bucket.

I got the camo. Very comfy and fit well with my eg2's. Didn't feel heavy. I would buy it again.

Audio Compatable

This plastic shell is everything you need to keep you brains inside that thick head of yours. Its sweet, because you can buy the skullcandy adapter ear flaps to customize your head piece and add some music while rippin a sick line in the park or down a powdery head wall

Sick

Love it! I recommend a thin hat for cold days but other than that it is a sick helmet. I like to wear my goggles underneath and it still fits great. Buy, love it, shred it

Can the google clip be trusted to hold the...

Can the google clip be trusted to hold the googles if your wearing them on top of your helmet? It looks like it only clips on one side, so I'm wondering if the googles would get torn off if you took a spill.

Responded on

It clips in the center at the back, and if you're riding while only wearing your goggles on top of your head, rather than on your eyes where they belong, then you're a tool and deserve to have them ripped off.

do your goggles fit good under it

do your goggles fit good under it

Responded on

Depends what kind of goggles you have. Almost all Smith goggles fit perfectly with it, but not so much old models. Oakley fit is pretty good too, a little gap from the top vents depending on the model. I suggest taking your goggles to a shop, and testing the fit before you order.

Smith Holt Helmet

a really nice, comfortable, and warm helmet. The staffmember at Back Country was a huge help in picking out the helmet. I told her what my concerns were and she picked out the right product and shipped it right out. Ted

how is it with a beanie?

how is it with a beanie?

Responded on

If you want to ride with a beanie, size up, but i really don't think you need one. This helmet is pretty warm.

Smith Holt Helmet - beautiful!

I tried on many helmets, but I kept coming back to this one for the fit and comfort. The best part about it was the price - one of the more cheaper helmets on the market that I saw. It fits well with my goggles, it is very easy to adjust, keeps my head very warm, and is rather light. Why people would ski and snowboard without a helmet is beyond me... I mean, would you mountain bike downhill without a helmet? If I had one complaint, the only thing I could think of is that my friends call me "egghead" because I have white framed goggles to go along with it, and I look like an egg (I got the Matte White color). This helmet is audio compatible also, but I haven't tried it yet. The Smith Holt Helmet was a great buy.
