Either law school or medical school.
If your little ripper disappears into the park every time you ski together, get the Smith Kids’ Holt Jr. Helmet to protect your child’s law-school-worthy mind. The Bombshell ABS hard shell and molded liner are what you want in between your kid’s noggin and a steel rail, and the skate design is what the grom wants to blend with friends. The AirFlow Climate Control makes sure this helmet is worn on the warmer days with rock-hard landings, and the AirEvac ventilation reduces goggle fog by routing air from the forehead out the top vents. The Holt Jr. doubles as a skate/bike helmet in the summer because of an included convertible pad kit and the removable goggle clip.

Even XS is too big for my 5 year old
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Although the size chart says that this helmet should fit my son's head, it was just too big even after tightening the knob at the back. I had to pay for the return shipping too even though the size was wrong.
Tough to Beat Smith!
Great helmet for the price! Fits great, looks great, is warm and also ventilates. The adjustment knob on the back is perfect for that custom brain bucket fit and doesn't bother my son whatsoever. Going off the fit chart my son was right on the cusp between the S and the M. Went w/ the M (room for growth) which ended up being way to big. I think the helmets are a little on the larger side from the specifications. Went down to the S and the fit was much better and still has room to grown into before handed down. Overall great helmet and Smith makes great products! "They do make the great days better!"
Do NOT Buy this helmet
bought two of these - one for my son, one for my daughter. my son got a 2011 version, my daughter a 2012. Smith changed the sizing adjustment mechanism for 2012 and now uses a big knob which sits low in the back of the helmet, and just below the skull on the head. The knob is rough (so you can grip it easily) and it cut through my daughter's neck when she fell down! I spoke to Smith customer service about this and they said this mechanism is better than the old one because it breaks less. they don't plan to change it and they offered no solution, assistance or even a refund when I described the issue to them. the service rep finally said, "sorry about that" before hanging up. Seriously??
