The Smith Mastermind Sunglasses won't help you get past security during your next attempted casino heist, but they do feature distortion-dismissing Carbonic TLT lenses and sticky-when-wet Megol nose pads to keep everything in place when you get tossed out the side door into a dark alley.

  • Carbonic TLT (Tapered Lens Technology) lenses eliminate distortion for crystal-clear optics
  • Hydrophilic Megol nose & temple pads get sticky when wet for a super-secure fit
  • Evolve frame made with 53% bio-based Rilsan material for reduced environmental impact without sacrificing durability or performance

When I got these I never thought I would wear them as they were won, because I'm awesome.. *high five*. But now I don't wear anything else. I'm even saving up to get another Smith style. They clarity on these when I'm on the river or lake fishing is SO good and they don't slip or bother my nose. The best part is they are so light I forget they are on.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Stylie, light and functional.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These sunglasses are just as at home apres ski as they are roadtripping or hiking. All without sacrificing comfort and performance. Good coverage as well. Really nice, go anywhere, do anything sunglasses.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Loving these shades, nice fit, lightweight and comfortable.
My favorite feature is the rubber grips on the sides of the arms, keeps the sunglasses in place.

My new "go to" glasses for trail running!

I can't give it 5 stars because the case type, there isn't protection because is a sunglass bag.

I'm happy with my purchase.

How do these compare to the Smith Outlier's?...

How do these compare to the Smith Outlier's?

Best Answer Responded on

Hey Leland,
The tech specs on the two sun glasses is virtually identical aside from some minor tweaks to the frame around the nose. The Outlier's have more prominent nose peices than the mastermind. Other than that the main difference between the two is the color styles. The Smith Outlier's tends to have more bright color options, some of which are not offered in the Mastermind style. There are also some colors that the Mastermind style has that are not offered in the Outlier style. Some are offered in both but in short, color is the main difference between the two. Personally I have used the mastermind sunglasses and they are my go to sunglasses for driving, hiking, or climbing. I don't have issues keeping them on, even when I am sweating quite a lot, and they fit quite comfortably. However, I would recommend the Outliers if you like the color more or have a more narrow nose.

Perfect fit, lightweight, modern look. My go to sunglasses for everyday wear. Love 'em

Awesome

Great casual style optics that stay on your face really well, perfect for, say, wearing to work and then shredding that secret downhill trail back home. The hinges are bomber, and the temple pads do a great job of keeping the sunglasses in place.

This shades are money, great style and great fit with the classic all time smith lens! My favorite feature is the rubber grips on the sides of the arms, allows you to ski or ride in them without falling as casually as a normal pair of sunglasses would.

S&S

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shades are stylie and strong. They survive throwing them in the pack when you put your goggles on and are perfect for a night on the town. When you only want to grab one pair of shades for a big trip these are the ticket!

YES!

These shades are as laid back of a look as you can find, while still having a crisp, comfortable fit. Loving these shades.

New Favorite Shades

They look modern, but not so much that you'll look like a trendy Ray Ban hipster. They look street, but not enough where you wouldn't feel comfortable fly-fishing or hiking in them. A perfect blend of all things in one sunglass kit.
