Smith Maze Helmet - 2011

Ever since Smith came out with the Maze Helmet, the excuse that snow helmets weigh too much doesn't hold water. Weighing in at 11.5 ounces, this helmet is so light you'll forget you're wearing it.

  • In-Mold construction features ABS plastic with an EPS liner to provide lightweight protection
  • Snapfit SL Ear Pads are easily removable for springtime schralping
  • Removable goggle lock holds your strap just where you need it
  • Upgrade to the optional Skullcandy audio system so you can jam out on the chairlift (Skullcandy sold separately)

Bottom Line: Excuses are the same as bum holes . . . everyone has one, and they all stink.

Lightweight life saver

I have only had one other helmet (forgot which one) during my 12 years of riding and I only wore it maybe 5 times because it was uncomfortable and heavy. After a nasty accident, I realized that I probably need a helmet and after some research, I decided to give this helmet a try. I am really glad I did. It is so light I barely know I have it on most of the time. In fact, it fell off one time I was coming off the lift because I forgot to strap it and didn't even notice until the end of the run when my girl asked me where my helmet went! Luckily the lift guy at the top had it and I didn't have to fork out another $100. I took off all the lining and it fits perfectly with a beanie and a goggle underneath. If you're thinking of getting a helmet (and you should), look no further!

I would go with a large, but I feel like it really depends on how big your head is.

Amazing!

When I first got this helmet I was a little skeptical. I was dead wrong. This helmet is amazing. It is slightly restricting at first but you just need to loosen your chin strap. This helmet has saved my life more times I care to remember and barely has a scratch.
