For über-lightweight performance, the Burton Vapor Snowboard stands alone. Burton's Vaportech represents the future of snowboard construction. Vaportech's industry-first aluminum honeycomb core gives you mind-blowing response and is ridiculously lightweight—it's actually 90% air by volume! The Vapor has a lightening fast sintered WFO base and Multizone EGD—which transfers energy directly to your edges—for unreal speeds and a smooth ride. Just think about turning and you'll be on edge. Burton's Pressure Distribution Edge holds onto carves and keeps you in control with slight input from your toe and heel. With the Vapor Snowboard, Burton has built the ultimate ultra-responsive board for the most demanding riders. *Available for US Shipment Only.
Bottom Line: The Burton Vapor Snowboard is the closest thing to riding on air.
The vapor is a nice board but overpriced and over rated. I have ridden several other boards this year, such as Arbor's element alt, and the Burton air. The Arbor seamed like the sturdiest board w the best ride. The vapor rides great but not worth the price. And as for the claim that its the lightest- Its not. A store owner was trying to prove to me that it was the lightest board out, so he busted out the scale, then he grabbed the vapor and a similar sized board- a burton custom x- the custom x weighed the exact same amount. When we checked the board lengths, the custom x was the bigger board; therefore it was lighter than the vapor

I picked up an 06 vapor off of ebay over the summer, and the three weekends of testing I've yet to experience have been amazing. Reports of it easily scratching are quite accurate, but if your a serious rider that should not deter you. Furthermore its nothing a good stickerjob can't fix. With the kid who doesn't know how to spell break and gave this a one star, only a madman would take this amazing (and for that matter expensive) a board and hit up rails. The board is incredibly light and insanely responsive. This season I have been floating some of the largest airs ever, ripping up glades, trails, and powder like never before, and been pulling some amazing spins out of the pipe. The board has a decent amount of flex and overall is a dream come true.
No one cares about how bad it can scratch. Tell me how it flexes and how the board can handle the out of bounds. Any true rider is going to buy this board so screw how it can hang on the groomed runs tell me how it can deal with the true hard core rider?
Do you demand the best out of a snowboard? If so, I suggest picking up a 2007 Burton Vapor. You can't get a lighter Burton board. It might be a bit costly, but the ride is priceless. With all new Vaporskin and pro tip and tail added to the already lofty list of Burton materials (such as stainless steel edges, Sintered WFO base, Carbon I-beam, Multizone EGD, Pressure Distribution edges, and a negative core profile) this board is sure to turn head on the slopes. The topsheet is sooo fresh and sleek, but it does get a bit finger printy after a few touches. That's nothing a quick cloth rubdown wont fix. This year they even added a 163W for you lagre footed riders. Now every one can float on air no matter what size foot you have. I look forward to riding this board for years to come. See you out there!!!
This board is amazing - was able to recover from probably 10 falls in 3 days (wouldn't be able to on my old board). It's faster from get-go, everybody was looking at me how come I'm going faster on really shallow slope. I can ride it absolutely straight, no one edge or other, it's that forgiving. Much less vibration than my previous board too. Few people saw the board clean and recognized it as being Vapor, but other than that it's very incognito - no flashy colors on bottom, and top gets covered with snow anyway. The top being glossy black not only shows fingerprints, but scratches easily too - I had a board for an hour on a slope and some kid barely touched it with his skis, there you go, 3 inch white scratch on a top. I was pissed. So as far as a ride, extremely recommended. As far as scratchiness, not really :)
