Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Men's - 2007

If you're on the prowl for a super stiff, seriously powerful boot that won't wuss out on hair-raising big mountain lines, stop prowling. The Burton Men's Driver X Snowboard Boot has found its way to you. This is Burton's stiffest, most supportive boot. Burton designed the Driver X with a J-Bar adjustable heel-hold system to lock down the back of your foot for better performance whether you're hiking or holding your toe edge around a backcountry boulder. On frosty morning ascents, the rubber toe cap protects your toe as you kick steps, and the soles' rubber ice spikes give you necessary traction for climbing. When you're flying down a hanging snowfield, the Powershell reinforcement panels support like crazy. Integrated gel cushioning absorbs impact on cliff hucks. *Available for U.S. Shipment Only.**DISCONTINUED**

Bottom Line: Are you a big-mountain snowboarder with a death wish? Well, so is the Burton Driver X Boot.

Snapped Lace

By:
December 7, 2007

The third or fourth time I tried to tighten the speed lacing system on the right boot I heard a "snap." I was left with a broken, black lace held together by frayed, white nylon, or whatever the insides of those black laces are made of. I still gave it three stars 'cause it is as stiff as advertised. I like Burton's stuff, but I'm starting to question the durability. I've also got an '07-08 Custom X. I've used it twice, both times in Mammoth, CA over Thanksgiving weekend. Conditions weren't ideal, but I've got a small gouge in the fragile-looking topsheet on the heelside edge. There were some stray rocks jutting out of the thin snow base, so maybe it was my fault. It does make me wonder, though . . .

Not For Me- Too Stiff

By:
December 23, 2008

I'm going to rate this right in the middle because I know a lot of people like them. I just found them ridiculously stiff. I've been wearing Ions for front and back country and thought I'd get the Drivers strictly for the bc and save the Ions for lift service. But these boots were like having 2x4's jammed in your liner. I like to draw out my turns and feel the board under my feet. These boots deadened all the feel and limited all moves to tiny little tilts. I didn't like it. And my shins ached like hell after wearing them.

Really stiff. Not for narrow feet.

Get Some Stiffies

By:
April 2, 2008

I know some people say these boots are WAYYY too stiff, but look at what you are investing your money into when you choose the DRIVERS. I have a ankle problem so I looked for the stiffest boot i could find. The Drivers were the first I had in mind and found little success elsewhere. They ARE stiff as hell but the performance is UNMATCHED!!! If you want stiff these are what you need
