Burton Vapor Snowboard - 2008

The Vapor Snowboard stands above all others for lightweight performance. Vaportech Alumafly core construction makes it the lightest and most technically advanced ride in the Burton line. Rip steep lines and toss huge step-ups on this featherweight ride. The inside of this thing is actually 90% air by volume. Burton's lightning-fast sintered WFO base allows you to rip at unreal speeds while the Multizone EGD construction transfers all power to the edges for precision control. Burton gave this all-mountain freestyle machine a directional shape for more float in the powder and a twin flex to help you charge that Cab 720 with ease. *We can't control the color of board you get, but who doesn't like surprises?**DISCONTINUED**

Bottom Line: Light as air, because it basically is air.

Look why get a $1000 board that just does alright at some stuff. Save your $ watch Brociety.com and do like I do, get a great powder stick, a sick park board, and schweet all mountain freeride cruiser for the same $1000 budget. Life will be better, and you wont be begging for some fvck to cut your lock and boost your board while your sippin a brew in the lodge or cry when you scrape a rock or ding a rail. Candy ass rich b!tch. :P

Great board, but not for everyone

Where to start...

I got the 157cm, the graphics are SICK, I will post some pictures later. The Burton emblem on the base is see through, so you can see the Vaportech Alumafly (aluminum honeycomb) material.

The stiffness - true to its reputation, super stiff, no buttering here.

Protip does GREAT in powder, I took it out on a day where we got 15" of pow, no sinking at all that day!

It holds an edge so well, whether in ice or powder or groomed runs. I was so amazed, there was no chatter whatsoever.

If you're an intermediate to advanced rider, give this bad boy a try. Beginners stay away, you will get hurt and say "The vapor sucks" which is NOT TRUE! The Burton Vapor is AWESOME!!!

Nice,,but too $$$$$

Yeah, this board is light, BUT being so it limits your binding placements. They had to reduce the metal to make it lighter. I cant tell any difference between this and my 8 year old Rippey. Its really fast and handles well, but does feel a little sketchy at high speeds. I wont buy this again as it is not worth the money.

A Quiver of One

I tested the 08-09 proto during several days of the 07-08 season out here at Snowbird. No other boards compare! It's incredibly well balanced and the ICS binding setup is money. It's my professional opinion that Burton saved the Vapor's absolutely perfect shape for it's highest end board. The directional shape floats pow like "what?" Holds a solid edge traversing, and it's centered enough to effortlessly land bakcountry booters switch. Then blast switch pow slashers for the rest of the run. It kills it in the park, and has insane pop. Oh yeah, ZERO swing weight makes you feel like there is nothing on your feet. Fastest, lightest, most versatile board ever made-- period.

don't buy this salamander of a board!!!! it will shed its tail when u least expect it!!!! fine pay a G for a BURTON product. u could buy an oompa loompa for that price, by golly!!!! i have two beater friends that own vapors and one complains of the honey comb(which makes up the core and such) cracking when he landed tail, and the other says the top sheet is like ceram wrap.

OVER-RATED

By:

I demoed this board last year and found it to be totally lifeless. Its good points are that it is light and holds a good edge.

But it does not have much pop, is slow edge-2-edge and generally lacks any life. No matter what burton marketing says, wood cores are still far superior to the aluminum cores. If you want a high-end burton all-mountain board then get the custom x. It really is a far superior ride and is a lot cheaper.
