Burton X8 Snowboard

Last year the X8 Snowboard kicked off Burton's ICS system and took the snowboard world by storm. This year, the X8 continues its domination in terrain parks worldwide. The buttery soft flex, twintip shape, and high-end freestyle performance come standard, plus you can use this ride with regular bindings or go with the EST for nearly limitless stance options. Burton hooked up the X8 Snowboard with an ultra-fast sintered WFO base for speed, a Park Fly III wood core for supreme feel, and burly 10:45 sidewalls for durability. Terrain parks, city rails, powder pillows, and massive booters—the X8 Snowboard rips them all. * We can't control which color base you get. But we're confident you'll dig it. - Fall 2008.

Bottom Line: The future has arrived, so get on board.

This deck kills it!

By:

Rode this last year and will be riding it again this year. It's rated for the park and is insanely poppy and playful. I definitely wouldn't call it too heavy or stiff. The only complaint I've heard is that this is not a steeps or pow board. I can see the argument but don't totally buy it. I rode this up in Silverton several times last year and it killed every cornice, pillow, and powdery turn I could throw at it.

Well it is an awesome jumping and all mountain board, it is a bit heavy though :( the flex is pretty stiff. Its not that good for rails cuz of the stiff flex but i would kinda recomend it

Burton has it listed as a 3 for feeling but it's wicked poppy bro. On a FLEX scale from 1-10 I would rate this board at a 6 or 7. It's pretty flexy! I can ollie all day long and backside/frontsides are a cake walk. Board is super light! Board safe bro!

Burton X8 can't handle Superior

By:
November 18, 2008

I purchased this board December of 2007 new. It is an excellent board and treated me very well the whole season. The ICS/Est interface is a par none. There is no plastic base in the binding, just a base cushion. The weight of the binding has been reduced significantly. Although I took a trip in Feb. 2008 and was participating in a back country excursion upto Mt. Superior (the tallest peak in the Wasatch Range thatds directly across the street from Snowbird in Utah. We ended up climbing to the top and rippin right down the middle of Superior, but at the bottom my board was delaminated. There were definitely no rocks that hit the base, due to the incredible amount of snow present. Sent the board to Burton when I got home 5 days later, and received a brand new one 7 or so days after. Prompt service! Other than that minor flaw the board is great and I recommend it to anyone who wants to make the whole mountain theirs on a fun, playful board.

Best Board

By:

Absolutely the most responsive setup I've ever been on. All I had to do with think about turning and it felt like the board could read my mind. Its got a fantastic amount of pop for the park and with the quick center channel, its easy to slide the bindings back for some powder runs.
