Long a favorite of pro riders and hard-charging civilians, the Burton Custom Bindings balance performance and practicality. The baseplate has a forgiving flex that feels surfy and playful over park hits and solid on speed runs. The rotatable highback has a tool-free forward lean and a streamlined design to reduce weight without sacrificing turn initiation or support. Highback padding eliminates calf bite, while EVA padding and adjustable gas pedals on the baseplate absorb shock and improve board feel. The 3D Primostrap and Burton's famous Capstrap lock your heel into the back of the binding for an unreal ride. *Available for US shipment only. -
Fall 2008.
Bottom Line: Go with the Burton Custom Bindings for freestyle dominance.
out of box review...so i originaly got these to put on on eof my cheap toy boards, but i ended up puttin them on my nice board cuz they were so cool outta the box. Super solid and and sturdy as a rock, but still keeps the weight down, very light. having only used metal bindings before i was weary of a plastic baseplate, but the thing is heavy duty and feels indestructable. Adjustments are crazy for a lower end binding, Foreward lean, gas pedal, highback rotation, and of course the straps. coolest thing is that all adjustments are tool-less besides the highback rotation...and the straps and highback lean are adjustable on the fly...and as always, burton's boot to bindings integration is flawless, fits like a gloves only wishes it could fit. sweet stuff. ill write another after i go riding with them. (p.s. Screw burtons size chart!...unless you got some huge clonkers, like 12+...then go for the meduim, i got a medium and my 11 ozones's fit perfect with room on the straps to spare)
All in All - Not bad for the money. Having only used my Ride RX's for years i was weary of using a whole new binding, especially ones this cheap from a Huge Juggernaught manufaturer...the medium flex is pretty forgiving, and doesnt twist ur feet when you dont land perfect. I like, but not love the straps, they are plenty comfortable, no pressure points! with my Burton Ozones. But beware, they do not crank down very tight, just tight enough...Response isn't awesome, but gets the job done, but sometimes i felt like i really had to try just to get my board from edge to egde, the best thing i think about them is the effective padding - Flew up yesterday, overshot, slammed on a flat so hard that my butt touched the ground, usuallly that would have killed my feet and shins, but i rode away fine, thank you Custom Bindings!...These are eh....good bindings, definitly not worth retail but at a good sale price, they are a good purchase
super sick bindings...just like everyone says, there light weight and respond well...however, my biggest problem with them is the toe cap ratchet...it does'nt go down as tight as i would like..and has a tendancey to slide off my toes after a big kicker or spill
I brought these as my first bindings thinking Burton was good respected brand, I read the reviews and focused on the positive thinking what happened to others would not apply to me, I was wrong. These binding are a just a waste of money, unless you ride greens all day or you're just a noob that doesn't know any better. The Ratchets SUCK, they get your boots semi tight but start to slip if you attempt any further tightness. The toe strap slips off the boot due to tightness issues as well and the overall quality is laughable, as one person has said, it looks and feels like a cheap toy. Back to the ratchets, if you slip too many times while tightening you will chew the teeth right off, and fast, expect a very limited lifetime if you are foolish enough to purchase. Ride LX /RX or Drake fifties are a superior bindings and highly recommended and competitively priced . Learn from my mistake, not your own!
I slapped these on my Solomom Sanchez 154 and started jibbing around the park. I liked how lightweight they were even for a poly binding. Threw in some forward lean and went down a black and they responded well. Haven't found any cracks yet. These are my back-ups to my EST's or a spare board for my brothers that come with me. Great review by Cyrus! Read that one for a lot more detail. Board safe homies!
For the Price and the Quality..Are you kidding me....The best bang for the buck... they lock your booties in tight...a lil slippage but that's natural Rock Them
I recently purchased these Burton Customs and I'm pretty happy with them so far. I've only used them twice, so I haven't got to really wear them in much. A couple times I noticed that the right cap strap would come loose during the middle of a run but it never really affected my riding. It wasn't a reoccurring problem but I have read a few reviews about these bindings and them having cap strap security problems. I like the lightly padded straps though, you feel locked in and I haven't had any discomfort after riding down the hill or up the lifts. If you got the money definitely upgrade to Burton Cartels but these are a good investment for beginning riders and people looking to get a decent binding for a reasonable price. By the way this site is sick, make sure to check out Brociety.com to get crazy deals every 25 minutes.
yeah i had the same problem with the buckles, there is a screw in the buckle that you can use to tighten it which helps a bit, not perfect, also if you get some pliers and squish inside the strap near the buckle, or under it if you can get there, that will help too
They will come with all hardware necessary for installation. No driver though. Package includes 8 screws, 2 three hole mount disks, 2 four hole mount disks for non-burton boards or just one set of uni-disks for use on both burton and non-burton boards.
I found that it depends on different brands/models of boots. Most boots with the proper sized binding will fit fine. Although I have ran into a problem with mine where the capstrap didn't fit over the toe of my boot properly and would slip off mid-run no matter how I adjusted them. I had to use it over my toes instead. Not a major problem but a bit annoying considering the set-up was burton on burton. There's always risk when buying online but dogfunk is awesome and speedy with returns and all that good stuff.
I love these bindings! I'm an all-mountain rider and previous bindings I've had, had been uncomfortable...not these bindings, these were great, couldn't even feel them strapped to my feet and the response was great! I definitely recommend these bindings!
i was riding flow bindings that quickly fell apart (because flow sucks) and ran over and picked these burton custom bindings. they are the best bindings i have ever had! great fit, superior control, flex and right on the price. i got the red ones and they look awesome on my black board. flow should change the name to blow. these burton custom bindings are awesome!
yep definately. All burton bindings (except the est models) come with two plates, one for burton boards, and one that fits most other boards. And since capita doesnt sell boards and bindings they dont make their boards fit exclusivly to a certian type of binding (like burton does). Although if your looking for a good binding with a capstrap i would reccomend a pair from flux. There much better quality. I work at a ski shop and iv seen many a broken burton binding
I bought this binding because of the good price and the great brand. I am finding that it was a great buy. It took a few runs to get the binding fully adjusted the way I like it, and there are plenty of adjustments that can be made. The Custom offers great support and offers many adjustment settings. I would recommend them, especially if you are on a budget like me!
Matte Blue customs look awesome and the Custom setup adds alot of cushion for those hard landings in the flats... Adjustment for a true Custom fit is easy and offers a great fit. Capstraps tend to slide off the toe but its an easy fix and some adjustment can put an end to that. Worth the price and great for progressing in the park.
i put these bindings on a new burton 151cm blunt nd they were amazing. they have alot of flex nd definitely keep your feet supported. they dont make your feet sore like what some bindings do. i love them. i would highly recommend them
I just got the Customs and I wear a size 10 and they didn't fit. So now i have to exchange them with a large. Don't waste your money getting a medium if it won't fit.
Great bindings just got the 09's and they look sweet in black. They have lots of padding, just as much as the missions, and if you can get these on sale they are an amazing deal. No wonder so many pros use them!
Pretty good bindings for the price. The frosted green looks freakin sweet on my 09 burton twin. Only negative thing I have is sometimes they wont get as tight as I would like. The buckles tend to slip when I want them super tight. Other than that Im pleased with them.
These binders are right up there in the best for freestyle. The flex they give is great, and the strap, when adjusted properly, provides a great hold. For FREESTYLE these are amazing. If you want response, go for something stiffer.
i love this binding they r the best!!! they respond really fast!! u can do really sharps turns without do too much effort and if u like to hit the park u should get them cuz the landing are soft n make u feel like a pro.....
These binding are nice for the price, It's uber true that the ratchets slip when tightening down, these things would be great if not for that. 3 stars, not bad on the cush and response, they're lightweight too, but crappy ratchets :-(

It depends on what you're preference is on binding flex. When hitting a kicker or rail if you prefer a softer flexing binding that has some give to it and will be a bit more forgiving then you'll love the Custom. If you prefer more response and a stiffer flex, then these might not be the binding for you.
I've had these for 2 years now and have probably put over 60 days on them. My straps are fraying a little bit but other then that they are great. For the price you can't go wrong and I've never really had and problems with response or anything like people have said. Actually I'm pretty sure Shaun White uses these and love him or hate him you got to admit he's a machine. I've hit some pretty big hits in the back country, slashed pow and hit some big jumps in the park and they were good. I will be buying another pair when these go.
these bindings are SICK!! worth the cash especially if its on sale. GREAT heel-toe transition...just one problem, the capstrap doesnât always strap down as tightly as i would like, and also sometimes when your landing they can slip off the toe.. besides that GREAT. I for sure recommend it
These are okay bindings but certainly not the best out there. The toe strap ratchet always skips when you are tightening it. Once you are finally strapped in they work fine though.
It is mid September, so this is less of a review and more of a important thing to note. The provided sizing chart, and a review below both recommend the that the medium bindings can fit boots up to size 11. I wear 10.5 Burton Motos, and there is no way they fit. Wicked toe overhang, and the capstrap won't ratchet properly.
That said when I exchange for large, these seem like solid bindings.
I got these bindings at the end of last season in place of other technine bindings that i broke. As soon as i got them i was so stoked. I put them on my board that day an used em a bunch over the weekend. The r the best bindings i have ever used. They r awesome looking and the straps can defently hold down any weight weather ur hitting the huge jumps, grindin on the rails, and shreddin the powder. They are ultra durable through the worst weather and are super sensative giving u the smoothest and sharpest turns with eese. No matter who u r i would deffintly recomend these SICK bindings.
These bindings are sick. I got the white ones and put 'em on my black board. They look amazing. They are more of a white/clear color, but killer nonetheless...
I didn't get the chance to put them to the snow yet since it's the middle of summer but so far it all seems good. installation was easy and these bindings have GREAT adjustability. They look absolutely SICK with my 2009 burton twin! I strapped in once and my only complaint is that they don't get super tight but they seem like they will be plenty tight enough. also worth mentioning that dogfunk shipped very quick and nothing was damaged. i will definitely be shopping here again.
I honestly don't think these are bad bindings and thats the only reason I gave it a 3. I really havent been able to truly test these on powder for all that matter a diamond slope. Going this weekend though and I'll update this.
I didnt even place these on my board as they have just bare plastic underneath. The rachet system is horrible. You cant tell from the picture but the red ones have downright ugly straps. In this price range the Ride LX are much nicer.
These bindings will start to break after ur first year of riding them. My straps have started to rip after the first month of riding. Spend your money on somthing better!!!!!
I've been riding rental gear up until I hooked up my own board with the custom bindings. They weren't anywhere near as responsive as I'd hoped, so I nearly broke my ass down the slopes. I've returned them for something stiffer (Cartel)
