If lightweight’s your game, the Burton Ozone Snowboard Boot’s the name. Team riders Mason, Mikkel, and Downing had a hand in the creation of this soft-flexing boot, so you know the quality wasn’t sacrificed for the sake of weight reduction. The Ozone features Burton’s Flex 2 liner, which combines a buttery flex with strategically located TaiPanels that juice up support for landings. For cushioning during hard stomps, Burton added molded EVA footbeds and B3 gel pads that won’t break down. The J-Bar system lets you dial in the amount of heel-hold you need, and the Speed Zone lacing system makes tightening and loosening your boots easier than tying your shoes. EST-optimized midsoles bring you closer to your bindings for better board feel. - Fall 2008.
Bottom Line: Burton’s lightest boot doesn’t scrimp on performance.
WOW these are so comfortable, went to the local shop and threw in em in a heat molder and they fit absoultley perfect. ive been dealing with dead toes, crushed toes, and a bad pressure spot on all of my boots for the past few years and now all those problems are gone! (ordered true to size, didnt even pack out a half size, still snug n nice)...while riding they are very comfortable, i was weary about them because they are so soft, but once you get em laced up nice n tight, they are just as responisive as any other boots. but way more comfortable and perfect for buttering and just having a relaxed ride. took some tree runs to test response and they did great...Cushioning is awesome for hard landings. they arent too huge so they fit nicley into lots of bindings. Must be the most comfortable boots ever made, only problem is that the speed zone laces can undo themselves if you dont REALLY push em down into the cleats. BOTTOM LINE if you want happy feet, buy these boots
Hey, i bought these boots and returned them after 4 days of riding. they were super comfy at first, but then i stareted riding in them, and they offer no support at all. they are 4 in burton support level. my old moto's are 2.5 and the moto's offer way more support. for the price of this boot you can find way better boots then these (Moto's for example).
instead of using that old tired power-strap, this super innovative cuff system locks you down tight and is much more comfortable...doesnt pinch anywhere or make feet fall asleep or bite the calf like all my previous powerstraps have. this thing is awesome.
after riding these boots half the season so tight my big toe was black and blue they finely broke in..so much that my heal now has a blister on it from all the heal lift! and yes thats with the jbars in!! I WILL BE SENDING THESE BACK!
tizight booters, uber light, good flex, reduced foot bed size so if your a 9.5 like me its an easy fit in a medium binding, super comfy and fast to get on and off.. must buy for sure
Finally got a pair of boots that I dont have to mess with on da hill. Super comfy and easy to get in and out of. I dont know what the other guy was talking about with da half size bigger, I ordered my same size and they fit great. I highly suggest buying these.
this is a great boot i could definetly feel the difference between this and my old bulky zumas. The ozone gives you so much more flex and its so much lighter it makes carving and spins much much easier. =)
These boots are indeed very light, flexible, and thereby comfortable but those aren't the only things you want in a boot. They're so flexible that I either had to cinch my boot so tight before a run that my feet throbbed halfway down or risk my foot almost sliding out. My binding also crushed the boots, I had to readjust my toe caps twice in a week because the boots would just fold down into my feet. Essentially, if you want to make snowboarding more dangerous, these boots are the way to go.
This review only applies to the AFTERBANGE OZONE BOOT. I ordered these about 2wks ago and instantly returned them after trying them on. 1) The boot material is made out of some cheap shiny vinyl material. Just by touching the boot you can instinctively tell that the boot will lose all boot form. 2) Strapping in my board, instantly turned these boots to mush. I tend to strap in with medium to tight tension in my straps. Once the straps went over the boot, my foot literally had at least an inch of space on either side due to the tension of the straps. 3) The form of the boots were way off. The left boot was more narrow than the right boot. It seemed odd but knew this wasn't something I wanted to deal with in the long run. Like another reviewer stated, I too was close to being able to pull my foot out of the boot. NOT COOL.
However, the other Black or Red Ozone boots may return with different results. They seemed stiffer and made with better material. I am a big fan or Burton Boots but the Afterbange's were a no go in my book.
Just some tips on Burton Boots, if you wear Nike brand sneakers, from the Jump-Offs to Air Max's they are the same exact size to Burton Boots. If you are 1/2 size, purchase the half size. After the boot packs out, you can either purchase or just grab insoles from other shoes to add as shims to the boots. Burton used to provide the shim but I guess with their new technology they thought it was no longer needed.
these things lost all support after 2 weeks and they barely fit into a burton large binding, which they are suppose to considering I am a size 11. The lacing system also doesn't lock for me anymore and I can basically rip my feet out of them without trying at this point. These things were the best in the beginning but the material is too soft to last
ok so... i bought these boots from my boss, first through second day best boot ever 12 days later (ya ive had em 12 days of solid ridin and im not amazing) there totally destroyed as tight as they get i can still pull my foot out(yes they are the right size).... WTF not awesome at all burton! dont get these boots if u want a long lasting boot! actually dont get this company if u want anything but clothes. BURTON SUCKS....
