Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Freeride Package
The Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Freeride Package comes with the gear you need to increase the odds you and your partners will survive an avalanche in the backcountry. The Tracker DTS Beacon’s digital display shows both distance (in meters) and direction with red LEDs. Backcountry Access claims the Tracker DTS is the easiest on the market to use, which you’ll likely appreciate while practicing and if you ever experience an avalanche. The Profile 240 Probe features a quick-tensioning system for fast assembly and depth markings in one-centimeter increments. BCA’s Traverse Extendable Shovel manages to be burly and lightweight at the same time. A ferruled oval shaft combined with an aluminum blade gives the Traverse an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio, so you can shave ounces off your pack weight yet know this shovel won’t bust at a critical moment.
Bottom Line: Be prepared for the worst.
