When GNU designers created the crispy green Park Pickle BTX Snowboard, they took into account that you don’t make heelside and toeside turns in the same way; your heelside turns have a lot of raw power but not a lot of finesse (less ability to tip the board on edge), while your toes have more control with less power. So GNU gave this preserved cucumber an asymmetrical core and a deeper heelside sidecut for a balanced feel while you ride. Add Banana Technology and Magne-Traction to the mix, and you have one tasty Park Pickle for progressive riding and duck stance supremacy.
Asymmetrical sidecuts match your asymmetrical body
Banana Tech (rocker) lets you stomp your board flat for tip-to-tail edge contact and enhanced control
Magne-Traction increases edge control, even on bulletproof hardpack
Double-sintered UHMW sidewalls take abuse without flinching
Bottom Line: Because your front- and backside aren’t identical.
Sizes in relation to base color, are they fixed or assorted? For example, are all 156's made with the green base and all 153's made with the light blue base or are they mix matched?
I bought this board last season as a pre release and i loved it very fun very playful, not a noodle by any means it has a medium flex which pairs well with the rocker, although i enjoyed the board i didnt like the fact that after 2 weeks of park riding the edge seperated from the sidewall and the topsheet cracked just behind the bindings, i sent it back to mervin and recieved a new board and after a few weeks of riding i noticed cracks forming behind the bindings, great board with questionable quality.
hey aaron the "stupid squiggle edges" is the magne traction. they help with edge control alot. i have a skate nana' which has these "stupid squiggle edges". dont be hatin on the magne bro.
hands down one of the best snowboards i have riden. the gnu park pickle btx snowboard is one of the best park and pow board you can get. the magne traction on this bad boy really helps when holding a hard turn or just crusing down a swift line. i really recomend this board to everyone. its a great all around board for experts and begginers.
it is soo awesome the flex is just perfect. I have the 150 and have been pitter pattering around in my basement it's everything i hoped it would be be. BOTTOM LINE: you can't go wrong with the PARK PICKLE
hey im looking to buy a gnu park pickle, wondering if i should buy a 153 or a 150. im 168cm tall or 5' 6" and a bit and am growing like a weed. I want it for park but more for jumps than jibbing so i dont want it too short.
The 153 will be a bit more stable at higher speed and jumps. It will also give you a bit slack to grow with the board and have it as a backup/street board when you hit 175-180 cm.
Ultimately your weight has more to say than your height.
The pickle is just a bit stiffer than the banana. I've found presses a little rougher on my pickle, but I'm also still getting used to the feel of it (I have a 147 pickle and 151 banana). Pop seems a bit better on the pickle, but my banana has already had the shit ridden out of it, so it's a bit tired and not a great comparison to a shiny new banana.
This board will be very similar to the skate nana, but the flex will be a little softer (yay). Another plus is the deeper heelside cut, meaning whether you ride it goofy or regular your heelside edge should be the same. This enables you to carve easier and faster.
Depends on your boot size. If you a size 11 or larger foot then you definitely need a wide. If you have smaller then that then the normal width will work fine for you.
Im 5'9" and 140lbs and i'd get the 156. If your more freestyle based, get the 156 and you should be fine. If you like all mountain too, a 159 could be better. Depends on your style.
In all honesty, the difference between 156 and 159 is noticeable, but not huge.
