Holden Brighton Jacket - Men's

Holden uses its natural hemp-fiber material to give the Men’s Brighton Jacket the same weather resistance as nylon without harming the planet. You may think hemp is just for hammocks, hoodies, and hackie sacks, but this fully seam-taped jacket easily handles a burly day on the hill without any worry. Two large hand pockets hold everything you could need, from extra gloves to your squished peanut butter and jelly, so you don’t have to bring a pack even for all-day riding.

Bottom Line: Hemp isn’t just for beanbags anymore.

Holden Hype - Suitable as Street Jacket Only

By:
April 17, 2009

Ok - Not the greatest jacket. This jacket is definitely not suitable as a snowboarding jacket. It's way too thin and won't provide enough protection. The so called hand-pockets in the front are way too high to be practical, and way too odd-shaped to be good storage pockets. The only other useful pocket is the internal chest pocket (the description says there are 2 internals, but until I find the second one there's only 1). The hood only has a tightening option in the front but not in the back; it looks kinda stupid. Yes there's a powder skirt and underarm zips for ventilation, but that's about all there is as far as features go. The wrist and waist are hemmed with knit ribbing, which is stupid since I cannot (and there is no way to) tighten or loosen them any way whatsoever (so say hello to snow up your a--, and annoying sleeves that hang past your wrists). The last thing that bothers me is the wrist gaitors. I want to ask Mikey LeBlanc: Seriously dude, who the hell uses these? 1) If you use them it'll be pretty much impossible to use under-cuffed gloves or even over-gloves. Never mind the fact that the ribbed hems don't even let me overlap or adjust over any glove. 2) It bunches up every time I slip my hands through and is annoying as hell. That's about it. The outer fabric looks cool, and the Coconut lining just sounds sweet but doesn't do anything special.
