K2 Jibpan Snowboard - 2008

The Jibpan Snowboard completes K2's line of freestyle snowboards. This versatile board is as comfortable on backcountry booters as it is buttering boxes in the park. As you point the Jibpan toward a massive hit, K2's Harshmellow technology cuts down on chatter for a smooth ride, and a 4000 sintered base gives you speed to clear the gap. Ride away cleanly and spin off everything on your way to the terrain park—the Jibpan's Hyper Progressive sidecut, carbon torsion forks, and carbon inlays provide quick response, powerful pop, and a low swing weight. K2's Jib Tip tech integrates a long effective edge with a short nose and tail into this board so you can drop down 5cm in board length and not lose stability. The Jibpan graphic is a K2 and Mishka NYC Collaboration.

Bottom Line: The Jibpan is a dish best served ice cold.

K2 Jibpan 156

By:
March 31, 2009

This board rocks... I've been riding a Burton Air 165 for all mountain which handled great at speed and a K2 Anagram 155 in the park. I am 190lbs and went with the Jibpan 156. This board does it all. I was ripping backcountry and it remained stable at fast speeds and handled great in the park. I am very pleased and only wish I picked it up earlier in the season.

I'd recommend the 153 but if you want the ones on sale the 150 is probably your best bet:

The Jibpan has what K2 kalls JibTip. They make the nose and tail lower to the ground which gives you a longer effective edge. This way you should be able to run the board about 5 cm shorter and get the same sidecut (turn radius).

The stance is 22" on the 153 and up, 20" on the 150. So if you like to ride it wide id go for the 153.

If your planing to do other stuff than pure park I'd recommend the 153. The 150 will probably be a little sketchy outside the park and the lowered JibTip in combination with a short nose will probably not be excellent in powder.

like but not love

By:
July 18, 2008

I liked this board but didn't love it. Nice pop and edge hold but it felt dead to me. Maybe it was me but the board felt slugish on the mt hood snow. For the price I expected more from this board. Come on K2 step up. I liked the Burton Fix, Nitro T2 and Capita Indoor much more than this deck.

It's probably not as versatile as the Believer or other models/brands. The Jibpan is a park oriented board with a lower tip and tail and soft flex. It's derived from the World Wide Weapon which is a rail oriented deck.

If you're looking for a good all round board I can recommended the Believer. It's soft enough for jibs and bonks. Has a iron sole that eats rocks for dinner and works excellent in pow. This years model also has a zero camber which supposedly will make it better in pow and park.

Jibpan is great in POW!

I have the Jibpan from the last season. It has been one of the best boards I've owned for powder riding. Super fun and responsive in deep snow and natural terrain.
In the park it pops well on jumps but not so great for rails or boxes but manage.

China Junk.

By:

I hated this board last year, it costs way to much for a pos made in China. Where are the savings K2? Why do your boards cost more than boards like Rome that are made in quality factories in Austria?
