Lib Technologies Skunk Ape Magnetraction Snowboard - 2007

The Lib Tech Skunk Ape Magnetraction Wide Snowboard brings top-notch freestyle performance to rippers with ridiculously big feet. Magnetraction edges turn easily even in icy parks and pipes, and the TNT base gives you all the speed you need. Lib Tech used tough double sintered UHMW sidewalls to make the Skunk Ape Magnetraction Wide Snowboard burly enough to handle a missed rail transfer from a big rider. This high-tech ride also features a honeycomb wood Air Core to keep overall weight low, and Correct Sandwich construction decreases swing weight to help you nail your backside seven.

Bottom Line: The Lib Tech Skunk Ape Magnetraction Wide Snowboard won't buckle under the abuse of a bigger rider.

big board big power

By:
December 21, 2007

i have 167cm and the board is amazing. i wear size13 dc boots and the boards width is perfect. i mainly ride backcountry, trees, chutes, cliffs, and little bit of parks when the weather is crap. its twin shaped but awesome in pow with little stance setback. softer than my previous option makinen pro 161cm, but definately faster with much less chatter. my first board with magne traction and i think im a believer now. it came handy at traverse lines into pow at kickinghorse. according to my buddys GPS, i was going 85km/hr on groomers, and it held edges like they were glued to the ground. for guys who wear big fat boots and are looking for all mountain, freeride/freestyle stick with lots of power, this may be the one perfect board. for park riders, i cant really tell you much since last time i hit park jumps were 2 years ago, and last rail session was 4 years ago. i was told my buddy who rides park lots, that it might be little too stiff for full blown park junkies. oh ya the graphic on both top and bottom are even crazier in person.

nice and powerful

i have 167cm and it rides like a dream. i mainly ride backcountry, trees, chutes, cliffs,,,,all the natural stuff, and very little park when weather is crap. i was little worried about twin shape and its very little set back because of my riding style however, i put bindings as far back as they can get when i ride big mountains and its awesome. not as stiff as my previous board, option makinen 161cm, which also worried me a little when i received it since i like fast, steep, obstacle littered lines. when i actually rode it, it was very stable, sharp, easy to throw around despite its length, and floats on pow very nice. according to my buddy's GPS, i was going 86km/hr on groomer at kickinghorse, magne traction held its edge like it was glued to the snow and it felt very safe. when taking off jumps, it has lots of pop and stable platform for landing,,,,all the time. now, as for park riding, i cant say much since last time i rode park was 2005 and last rail session was 2003. i was told my buddy who rides park a lot that it might be little too stiff for full blown park junkies. however, the board was originally designed for freestylers in mind so im sure it will do you good.

Great service - Why go to a store?

By:
December 27, 2007

I haven't used my new board yet - Surgury on foot. It will soon be tearing up the powder on Mt. Hood. This was my 2nd purchase thru this site and both times were exceptional. All arrived on or before it was promised and exactly what I order. I will order again thru this website and have recommonded to all my associates. Why bother with fighting crowds at the store? Thanks again and have great Holiday season!

well yeah !
After riding nothing but LIBS since 88-89, of course I had to update from my 5yr old Dough Boy. No, I haven't put it on the snow cause it's early oct! But by halloween Wolf Creek could be wide open wif a 40" base with 12" of new.
Now you get it.
Oh yeah , all the new sh t: Magnetraction Bra! I won't even need to use my highly advanced technique of craving and ripping steeps, bumps and glades. Why? Magnetraction Bra! p-tex sidewalls. superlight, very snappy flex, Mervin Rules , do your riding a favor.
