When the pieces are aligned, don’t dare overlook the power and versatility of the Nitro Rook Snowboard. This mid-wide twin-tip park assassin features forgiving low camber construction, and a longer tip and tail for days when you need to shred pow. With tuned bi-lite laminates for easy turning and forgiving flex, ballistic impact panels for impact protection under your feet, and a new ultra fast Sintered Speed Formula Base, the Rook is Nitro's newest park slayer.
X Powercore features reinforced tip-to-tail wood for snap and durability
Bi-Lite Laminates deliver effortless turning and forgiving flex
Ballistic Impact Panel put the impact protection of Kevlar panels under you feet so you don't get jacked on big landings
Dual Degressive Sidecut makes landings and takeoffs effortless without sacrificing powerful turns
Profile Tip is tapered to disperse energy and reduce swing weight so your ride is livelier and easier to spin
Railkiller Edge beefs up your edges for more durability on rails and boxes
Sintered Speed Formula Base is fast, tough and low maintenance
Bottom Line: Dethrone the king on this Nitro mid-wide park slayer.
this is my favorite board out there... this board combines all of my favorite riding boards from my past years riding and puts them into one... the rook is a super fun board.... it is a full twin board with a new base that is super fast for all of those 80 footers... they also put in these panels called ballistic impact panels under foot... this creates a much stronger under foot connection with the board... this board has a zero camber which, if you read my review of the T1, basically gives this board the best of both worlds... one world being a world full of super soft, flexible and fun buttery boards and the other a really charging snappy aggressive park board world... its also a mid wide... so its not twitchy when you land a little funny.... the side cut is the best thing on this board... its a dual degressive, this means that the board rides the same left or right foot forward but in the middle of all of your turns it can really get after it... which is real necessary for all the pipe junkies out there... this board has it all and will make you love snowboarding all over again... oh yeah, and dont forget the two year warranty!!!!!
The Rook is by far my favorite board in the Nitro line and by far the best board I've ridden in years. I like to have one board that can do it all. Powder, rails, jumps and trees, I've yet to find a condition the Rook hasn't been able to handle.
I've ridden the Rook in the Italian Alps, New England, UT, Northern California, MT Hood and in Washington.
The Rook is the one board I travel with because I know no matter what the conditions are like I'm guaranteed to have fun.
The Rook has the perfect Park Flex with catch free and predictable Zero Camber. The Rook's flat Zero Camber makes it feel like a pre-broken in board right out of the wrapper, it feels so natural, like you have been riding for months, but it still has all the fresh pop and kick of a new deck. It's easily the best of both worlds between Rocker and Camber.
It is impossible to not have fun the Rook. From its solid feel, lightweight and durable Austrian construction, to it's stable mid-wide shape and Zero Camber this board begs to be pushed hard, go fast and hit every bump, jib and jump in sight.
The Rook is the board of choice for the majority of the Nitro Team, our Sales Reps, Team Manager, in house staff and myself the Sales Director for Nitro. Jump on the Rook, youll be stoked you did.

In case you're a bit confused by Vanbosch's picture, since it doesn't look like the board at the top of the page. The board he put up is the LE Version of the Rook with graphics done by Dennis McNett. The board has the same exact construction, just a different graphic. Check out the link below to see the topsheet(s).

This board is a super solid in park! Little stiff to begin with, but very easy to soften up over time. The fact it's stiffer than most park boards makes it SICK on jumps too, and for hauling ass. With a little riding you'll be able to press the hell out of it along with slaying jumps, a good combo!
