Throw on the Nixon Master Blaster Headphone, throw on your favorite old-school beats, and sink into the crystal-clear sound. Whether you’re trying to concentrate in a loud office or heading out for a gig the Master Blaster ‘phones will keep you in your own world with soft leather ear cushions that block out excess noise. Nixon gave these hearin’ cups a 50mm driver and 95db sensitivity so you hear every high note and down beat. On-ear volume control allows you to tune out your babbling co-workers or bring down the noise when a hottie crosses your path.
well, im not about to complain, i got these on ebay for about $120 new which is definitely a fair price. i see people complaining about the wire making noise and the headphones not being comfortable. i'm not an expensive headphone connoisseur or anything, i'm just coming from some old scool chopper style headhones and a pair of (terribly uncomforable) wesc oboes. i wanted a braided wire and over the ear headphones with pretty good sound quality. I got what i wanted and definitely would recommend these to anyone looking for similar. I find them comfortable, though the leather seems a little thin and soft (i was expecting it to be a bit hardier, thicker and cheaper (which i usually like more)). can't complain. they're great cans. try them out. i'd love to see a pair with a coiled cord come out.
ok...so i've never had super nice headphones before, like i've had the skullcandy TI's and GI's (both pairs breaking within a couple months of purchasing them)...so i decided to say f it and go for the gold...plainly put...these headphones are amazing - they sound phenomenal, look baller, and are made of super strong, not easily breakable materials...if you're willing to spend the money, you will NOT be disappointed
Bought these headphones as opposed to the Bose quiet comforts and dont regret my decision at all, levels are all crisp and clear, bass is boomy without drowning out the other levels...comfortable, traveling through europe with them now and love em, plus they are lank stylish.
i love them. the sound quality is unblievable, and the cord can be seperated from the headphones. the on-ear volume control is awesome. they sound great with all types of music and are super comfy. Plus, they look fckn rad.
These headphones are expensive, yes, but compared to other studio quality headphones that I've used (Bose, Sony) they are very competitively priced. The on ear volume control is amazing, awesome feature, and the leather wrapped cans and headband make them comfortable, even at long stretches. If you travel at all, these would be a wise choice.
I also tested these at a shop. I really like the look, looks like they can take a beating and its styly. I find them a little too big, but hey that's personal. Sound is pretty damn sweet. I was rocking my socks of in the store, i'd give it a 5/5. And the volume control on the ear is a cool feature. I just think the price is a little bit steep- ay.
First of all, the style is dope as hell. They are definitely big, but have have super clean lines and are extremely well made with leather and metal. They should stand the test of time. I find them to be extremely comfortable, even wearing them all day. I sit at a desk at work and am able to passively block out about 70% of ambient noise just based on the great over-the-ear fit that these headphones provide. The volume control over the right ear is a great idea, totally functional, and extremely convenient. For anyone who plugs their headphones into a jack/input that is not easily in reach or that needs to fluctuate volume often it is a HUGE convenience to quickly and effortlessly change the volume with a quick twist of the dial on the right ear. As for the most important part of any headphone, the sound quality, these do not disappoint. I realize that 2 bills might scare a few people away from these, but anyone in the market for high end studio quality headphones would agree that these are very competitively priced and in my opinion are equal or better than much of the competition. Not to mention they look much better in my opinion. The bass is thumping, but not at the expense of the mid and high range. It is a very "full" sounding headphone that pays respects to the entire tonal range without just trying to play to the lowest common denominator: the bass. I would strongly recommend these to anyone looking for a sick, well made headphone that stands out from the crowd.
Well, I don't own these, but I tested them out an the board shop and I must say, being a Nixon fanatic, they could have done a bit better, and priced them a bit less. They are not "mushy" really at all, the leather is pretty tough, so they aren't the most comfy, but the sound is pretty good. Not "insane" Maybe 4 out of 5. The coolest thing is the volume switch on the right ear. Amazing idea. Anyway, might want to try them first.
