I've had two of these and broke them both, ride is pretty good about sending you knew stuff if its not from abuse though. It is pretty buttery but still has some nice firmness for drops onto rails just be careful landing backseat cause the tails tend to snap...trust me. I like the board... but they break

To start off with a disclaimer, any one person's opinion on a snowboard is not necessarily applicable to another person. That being said, this was one of my least favorite boards I ever tried. Very lifeless, no real pop to speak of. It wasn't very soft/buttery either, so I'm not sure what it would excel at. I typically love Ride decks, but this is one I simply can't recommend.

The kink is sick for a jib deck! DON'T BUY IT IF YOU WANT A TON OF POP (PK Thunder) IT IS A RAIL BOARD IT ISN'T MADE FOR A TON OF POP JUST LIKE ANY OTHER JIB STICK! Idk how people can't flex this board, then again I've seen people trying to press out the Signal Park Rocker and didn't get it off the box somehow. I have a Ride Crush, and the bases that ride puts out are damn hard to get through, more than happy, and i've ridden the kink as well, and it is sick!

As for the reviews knocking the slimewalls, those kids must just not get it! Yes they are softer, but guess what ABS will give way just as easy and it shatters! So the advantage of slimewalls is that you can bang that shit back out and not have your board be all crappy, SLIMEWALLS IS AN ADVANCEMENT IN SNOWBOARDING TECHNOLOGY

I love this board, its perfect for rails but its still got enough pop to get you over a good size kicker, the slimewalls absorb impacts really well and it has a really low weight, i was carrying it t my arena, and it felt like i was just carrying a pair of bindings,oh, and sick graphics

Just made the switch from an all mountain board, and I am super happy i did. Nice and flexy makes butters and presses a snap, and I love the pop. I rode a bunch of trails the first day and had no problems carving whatsoever, it holds it's edge as good as my Rome manual did... I must say I'm impressed. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for anything short of a complete powder board

The Kink has become an Iconic Jib deck over the last 8 years. Buttery soft 3 out of 10 flex with a snappy torsional response when you pop off kickers and out of the pipe.

The 85a slimewalls not only give you a better feeling under foot when sliding rails/boxes and carving down trail. But hold up 100X better to the abuse you put your board through slamming up against rails/boxes all day.

Added the "Cleavedge" helps make cracked metal edges a thing of the past. Most riders don't realize it, but sliding your deck down a metal rail heats up your metal edge significantly and when you hit the snow the instant cooling can cause cracks in your edges. Cleavedge is 50% thicker than normal metal edges and helps prevent cracks from happening.

This board will accomodate up to a 10.5 boot size, but for those of you with size 11+ boots will be stoked as Ride finally pulled their heads out of their asses and are offering up a Wide Kink for 2008/2009. So now all park rats can enjoy one of the best Jib/Park boards on the market.

got this as my second board 2 years ago, cracked the edges all down the board. I mean it made for better presses but became very unstable @ high speeds making anything other than a box or rail sketchy. Slimewall makes for softer landings but puts wayyy more stress on your edges, this is a known fact. Ride tried to counter this by beefing up the actual edges, not so much. My boy got one this past season and the same thing. Rusty Shakelford (top 100 OG) did the same thing with his Dose. I'd say slimewall is a good idea in theory but on the slopes, not so much. I credit ride for thinking outside the box that's why i gave this 2 stars and not one. (i mean i did only get to ride it 5 times) I personally made the switch to signal and I'll probably never go back

I love this board. I went from a Freeride Timeless and was skeptical of my transition into a soft park board. There was no "getting use to" period, hopped right on and buttered and Jibbed like a dream. Only complaint is the board's top layer chips too easily, when stupid people smacks into it while waiting for the lift. Ohh well, can't keep it brand new forever...

I really feel that the Rome artifact is a ton better than the Kink

I don't know why anyone would buy this board except for it's graphics! There's obviously no tech to it. Slimewalls? You call that an advancement in snowboard technology? Softer sidewalls means you cam smash in your edges even easier. My friend had last years and it was a disappointment. nuff said.
