It's hard enough to carry your keys, wallet, and phone in that sorry excuse for a pocket on your board shorts. Where in the hell are you going to put a bottle opener? Unless you're crafty with a lighter or have teeth made of steel, something has to give. Good thing Reef knows what's up—the Men's Fanning Sandals come with a bottle opener built into the outer sole. Finally, a way to open your microbrews without resorting to a European carry-all. Not only do these flip-flops give you a way to drink your suds, but they feature super plush soles and thick straps that keep your feet comfortable—while you're still standing, at least.
Bottom Line: The Reef Fannings—crack open a cold one.
When I first saw these, I was skeptical about 1) paying $50 for sandals, and 2) going along with a bottle-opener shoe gimmick. I went ahead and got them, 3 years ago, and my only regret is that I paid full price, instead of finding them on here. They're comfortable as hell to this day, they've lasted me through a LOT of wear and weather (I wear them about 9 months out of the year), and believe it or not, those bottle openers are your best friend, and new party trick for months after buying them. I wouldn't wear them in rocky or gravel-covered places, though, because stuff can definitely get jammed in the openers, and the hard plastic will probably crack if you hammer down onto a rock at a weird angle. Under normal use, though, these things will last you for many summers to come.
Before my dog chewed my old pair these were the best flip flops I have ever owned. I mean, air soles, arch support soft straps AND a bottle opener? Niiiice.
If I were you I'd buy the size 11. They may fit tight at first but the foot beds will pack out and the straps may stretch. This will allow you to have a more custom fit as they break in. The only thing to really question is the length.
I'm on my 3rd set of these pimps, i've been rocking them for years. soft, comfy durable etc the only issue is that after a while they soak up some stink and then will never stop reeking.
Comfortable, stylish, so far no complaints! Ordered them online, and they delivered in good time. Definitely would suggest these for anyone looking to buy a pair of quality sandals.
It sounds kinda funny opening a bottle with the bottom of your shoe, it's cool as along as you didn't step in sparky's present waiting for you out the door. They work great though and are really durable i've had mine for a year now and they still hold up great.
Dude, these Reefs are by far the best flip flops I've ever had. Comfortable and stylish are pretty important, but you should see the chicks rush around me when I demonstrate the bottle opener on the bottom. The first time I did it, I got a chick all wet...from beer, of course. Drop what you are doing and buy 10 pair now!
Reef sandals have been the most comfortable chongs I've ever owned and the Fannings still live up to those high standards. The best part is, with the high standard of comfort comes the equally high standard of style. A great sandal all around; you'd be foolish not to at least want to try a pair on. Get hooked.
i got the white pair and love them. i can walk in them all day and have no problems. the only problem is that i wear a 10.5 shoe and went with the 11 sandal... its a little loose over the top of my foot. not enough flip for the amount of flop if ya know what i mean
I bought these for my boyfriend. He LOVED them and so did all his friend. They all went out and bought a pair. It's the handy little bottle opener that did them all in.
On my second pair right now and I really like them. The girls dig them, great conversation peice and the bottle opener works wonders when your at the beach or on the lake wakeboarding and need a cold one. I recommened wearing them on those social days and a cheaper pair on a Day to Day bases... Pros: -Bottle Opener -Air Soul -Sweet Design Cons: -The white strip around the heels starts to wear down with time -The plastic soul cracked right in half across the bottle opener when walking over some rocks at the beach. -Price Hope that helps.
I'm wearing mine right now as I write this review. They're very well made and have lasted me a couple years already. Since just about anything solid can be used as a bottle opener I don't see any point in having them in the flip flops. It was a fun novelty when I first got them, but they cause me to slip on rocks and get caught on my clipless pedals on my mountain bike. That, and mud, rocks and anything else you can step in get caught up in them, so I probably wouldn't want to use them on anything I put my mouth on. They're reaching a point now where the material between my toes is stretched out, so it's time for a new pair. The DC Cabo sandals are very similar and don't have the bottle opener, so I'll probably go with those next.
I have tried alot of sandals but the most comfortable and of course the biggest hit at a party are the Reef Fanning Sandals. Can't get enough, I just wish I lived somewhere I could wear them all year long!!
definitly one of the most comfy flops i have ever worn. The bottle opener is definetly a pro for those days when you dumm friend forgets one or dont have a key chain opener. all in all great sandal everyone should get them but not in white (girlfriend says white is a lame color).
No matter what your doing, chillin at the beach, hanging out at the skatepark, or walking around the city. These things have really great support for all types of foot arches. With the plastic built-in bottle opener the sandal never turns into a sponge, that happens with most!
I already have several pairs of these sandals because they are the most comfortable sandals on earth. I don't drink much, but the bottle opener has come in handy around the house and is always a hit at parties/camping etc. It's built into the sole so it doesn't stick out and scratch things/rip chunks out of your hardwood floors. I just got the 4 pairs of these I ordered and I have to say they look even better than they do in the pictures. These were on sale and such a good deal. To put it into perspective I paid about $70CDN/pair for my old ones and I bought all 4 pairs of these including shipping/customs etc for $150CDN. So I pretty much bought them for half off. Not to mention they shipped next business day and were here within a week. Even at full price these are a steal!! Stock up while you can.
I bought these sandals as a surprise for my husband and he loves them. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but he has a lot of fun showing everyone that he can open a bottle with his shoe.
I have had a few different pairs of Reef sandals before, but these Fanning's are my favorite yet. The bottle opener is a nice extra, plus they seem to stay on my feet much easier than any other sandal has. The foot bed is textured, so your foot doesn't slip around, and stays put much better.
