Wear the Smith Holt Skullcandy Audio Helmet on the slopes and in the skate park too. This brain bucket's got it all: AirEvac design maximizes helmet and goggle airflow to prevent fogging in the winter, and the convertible ear pad kit adapts for use when you're riding on cement instead of snow. And whether your board has wheels or not, the Holt's bombshell ABS Construction protects your noggin' when things go awry. The standard audio jack goes straight from your ear pads to your mp3 player, or even a cassette player if you're the die-hard salty old-school type.
Bottom Line: Even if you haven't hit it big in the videos, your rides (and falls) deserve a soundtrack.
Not much more to say that hasn't been said by all the guys below. Sick helmet. Great protection, more than ample heat wise, and it doesn't make you look like Dan Akroyd in the Coneheads. I have tried out just about every brands audio helmet out there(Red Hi-Fi, Pro-Tec Assault, and a Bern that I forget the name of) and this bucket was DEFINATELY the best feeling for my head and felt the sturdiest as well. Weird enough though - I was wearing a L in every other brand and a S with this helmet? I don't know why and don't think this is normal that they run so big, but thats just my experience. The S fit me perfectly. I also love the goggle strap clip - its a very solid piece of plastic that is not gonna break any time soon. It is also actually functional and easy to use because it has a spring loaded clothes pin type of mechanism instead of a retarded button clip or flimsy paperclip type of connection to hold the goggle strap. The only issues I have had is that the good quality parts make this helmet a tad heavier than the others I have tried, and after a year of eating snow the connector inside of the earpiece doesn't connect perfectly anymore so the music will cut in and out at times. I was able to jimmy rig it just fine with a zip tie and it works without any issues now, but I definately put this helmet through hell before it started to malfunction. The only other bummer is the volume mechanism. I like some other brands that put a mute on one of the earpieces instead of halfway down the audio cord because when I want to talk to a homie on the lift I have to dig through my jacket to find the little volume control. The audio is not as good as my set of Skyllcandy Ink'd earbuds, but lets be realistic - what over the ear phones are under $75? I would trade the sound for the convenience of it being built into the helmet any day! Since I imagine that most people are getting a helmet it is for protection, don't let my little pet peeves steer you away - I still give the helmet a 5* rating and would not buy any other helmet out there currently if/when I need another one.
the headphones work much better than when i was riding around with earbuds in.. much more comfortable and better sounding.. the helmet also is great since it has already saved me on a few bad rail falls.. definitely worth it.. and the Scotty Lago designs on it look cool
Totally agree with Jay-B on this one. I also have this helmet and wear it with my A Frames. I have no issues whatsoever. You have to adjust the goggles strap out as far as it will go, but it does fit.
Fits perfectly! I bought this helmet last season and love it, the built in skull candy audio is great when ripping. I have old Oakley A frames and they are perfect and look sick. Although I do wear a bandana under it cause if you are ripping fast the cold air hits your forehead between the helmet and the top of your goggles.
I got Lago's helmet and it's awesome. First of all, the design is sweet with the combination of the color and camo and graphics that give the helmet insane character. The helmet is vented really well, I've depended on it to keep my head warm in -10 degree weather and it's never failed. The size is pretty accurate, I measured my head around 56 cm and got the small and it's perfect. Sweet look and doesn't make your head look like a balloon.
This helmet fits perfectly and the headphones work great...only downside to the headphones is that the connection sometimes gets loose s the chin strap can interfere. But on the whole, I am very happy with this helmet
I have never wore a helmet snowboarding before, so I was worried it was going to be heavy and uncomfortable. But the truth is this helmet is extremely light and comfortable...So comfortable, that if it wasn't for the music playing I would of forgot I was wearing it. I should also mention, I am some what of an audiophile. With that said, I am very impressed with the quality of the audio, especially since it is coming out of a helmet. I highly recommend this helmet to others.
the fit was right on with the size chart. the sound is pretty damm good too!!! well worth the money to keep your dome from getting slip open. and being able to rock the misfits at the same time, in one sweet package.
Keeps your head warm and hurt-free from spills. the fit is wide but its perfect for my 'stewie' shaped melon. the audio is loud enough to block surounding noise. All in all you get what you pay for, get this helmet NOW!
this helmet is great, for the money you can't beat it. keeps you warm and the audio quality is pretty good as well. only gripe is the controls are a little difficult to control with your gloves on
Helmet shipped fast, was dirty and a little beat up. I would have sent back for a new one but I was in need of it asap. Cleaned off with product and looked like new. Speakers are great- loud enough to hear even when going fast and in wind. Used in snow storm and was able to hear perfectly! LOVE IT
this helmet is so much better than my old giro very comfortable, good sound, nice shape and sizing looks steezy and protects your noggin, with good sound, what else could you want?
Stop, think... ok now try and do that after uve smashed ur head on a rock, tree, the snow, or anything at all for that case. For me it wasnt about the looks of a helmet, but the fact of getting use to it. The helmets these days are getting so "techy" that u really forget ur wearing it until u smash ur head on somethin. Be smart, buy this helmet and protect ur noggin, cuz if u dont; u wont remember this review, cuz u lost ur memory after catching an edge after a massive back 7 showin off for the camera and them ladies. O ya almost forgot it comes with skullcandy headphones, and a nice headphone jack that lets u control the volume and mute ur tuneage.
