You might not be pro, but mark our words: you might fool a few people while wearing the Special Blend Men's Autograph Jacket. With exclusive GORE-TEX fabric, a baggy fit, and street styling, this snowboard shell lets you ride through the storm with style. Special Blend gave the Autograph Jacket an extra six inches of length for added warmth and protection. Waterproof fabric and a super-sized hood will keep you bone-dry, even in a downpour. On warmer days, unfurl the Underarm zips and zip out the waist gaiter for a little more ventilation. When you roll up to the liftline for your first run, use the Autograph Jacket's Yo-yo pass holder to show the lifties you're legit. A multitude of inner pockets, including a goggle pocket, holds any little thing you might want on the mountain.
Bottom Line: You know you've arrived when some random chick asks you to sign her pant leg on the lift ride.
the M size is rated 91-96cm chest, and im 92cm. will M fit with under-jacket armor? i mean not those long sleeved shirts with foam padding here and there but a "massive" spine protection and front side (chest) armor, plus maybe 2nd slim layer for cold days.
If the "massive" spine protection is really massive than no, it would be tight and uncomfortable. Go with the large for a better fit if you do intend to wear that protection. If not M will be big enough.
This jacket is great. Super comfortable, the insulation is nice and soft but not big and bulky, and this combined with the really nice/soft fabric on the inside mean that it feels awesome just putting it on. No need to worry about the waterproofing. I'm from australia and we had some pretty heavy rain one day, i may as well have been in a rain coat. The jacket also cuts out all of the wind, but breathes at the same time. Plenty of pockets, and the yo-yo pass holder is a nice touch. Looks sweet as well.Only downsides i would say would be what the guy below me said about the wrist gaitors, and also that it can be a bit awkward if you want to tighten the hood. Other than that, this jacket is sick.
I've worn mine with just a t-shirt underneath on negative days and been fine, but if you're talking about -10 or lower, you're gonna want to wear some better layering underneath. A cotton t-shirt really isn't going to cut it when it gets at all wet anyway.
I've been riding the 08/09 Special Blend Autograph Jacket for about 3 months now and it is sick! I live in Alaska and this jacket has easily endured subzero temperatures, 25+ mph winds, and freezing rain. I have yet to get even the slightest bit wet or cold while riding. There's plenty of pockets, a decent amount of insulation, more waterproofing than you could ever wish for, and tons of sick SB style too. My only complaint is that the wrist gaiters don't have any sort of elastic band to keep them from slipping off your gloves, if you wear the sleeves over your gloves that is (they do have a velcro adjustment though). One important thing to note is that this jacket certainly does run a little big. I typically wear a medium, which is what I originally ordered, but had to exchange it for a small. Hardly a complaint when DogFunk shot me out a new one free of charge (shipping to Alaska isn't cheap). The bottom line; if you're looking for an insanely waterproof jacket that looks as sick as it functions, don't hesitate to pick up an Autograph. A+
This jacket kills it. The insulation is just enough in it to keep the cold out, but you don't bake on those warm days. Super comfortable, killer style. It has pockets like whoah! Removable hood/liner are nice touches, as is the ipod pocket.
