Salomon SPX 55 Snowboard Binding - 2006

Salomon built their SPX 55 Snowboard Bindings for three types of riding: fast, fast, and fast. If you have problems with goggles flying from your head as you ride, these are definitely the bindings for you. Salomon tricked them out with carbon-reinforced baseplates for solid edge control at any speed. Their graphite-reinforced highback holds solid when you lay down hard on the heel edge, and CNC-machined ratchets ensure a secure, slop-free fit with your boots.

Bottom Line: Strap up the Salomon SPX 55 Snowboard Bindings, and put the pedal to the metal.

Great Binding

I busted my bindings last year and went thru 4 sets of bindings before trying the SPX 55. Now I'm sold on Salomon bindings. They're more comfortable than the aluminum bindings I tried. They don't hurt my feet. Most importantly toe straps were vibrating loose with other bindings (during hard riding). I have not had that problem with the SPX55. These bindings are comfortable without sacrificing freeride performance. They're stiff but they also isolate you from vibrations and chatter, which isn't always the case stiff bindings. Most importantly they have proven to be reliable regardless of what I've thrown at them. I highly recommend these bindings.

shizzle!!

These are the most comfortable and responsive bindings I have ever ridden. They have a nice tall, stiff high back that make turns a breeze. The fast fit toe strap can be worn over the toes or in front like a cap strap. I personally do one of each and because they have the fast fit, you just slide them a little, a quick crank for tightness and you're good to go. Both straps have ample padding to prevent weird pressure points, but do not take away from the amazing control these things give. These are not really flexible enough to be called freestyle bindings, but I have used them everywhere on the mountain. These are the Cadillac of all bindings, as far as I am concerned.
