Skullcandy Smokin' Buds Headphones

Remember, the Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds Headphones are for listening, not for smoking. These potent little earbuds fill your head with a thick musical haze with no paranoia thanks to its noise-reducing design. The sticky-icky sound quality of the Smokin’ Buds will have you passing off your schwaggy old headphones with the quickness. The braided nylon cord adds durability, and the included emergency bottle opener saves the day when you lose your lighter (again). Fire up your MP3 player and let the Smokin’ Buds take you to musical pleasuretown.

Bottom Line: The Northern Lights of headphones.

Don't last

By:

They work great at first, but do not last for very long. The metal ring base around the ear piece fell off after a few weeks. The ear pieces come off super easy. I have to be gently if I'm pulling them out of my pocket.

I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this thing.

I completly agree. The sound quality is nice, the rubbers generally fit all ears, but they dont last at all. Im a sucker and always buy these cause they are cheap and look cool... Gone through 4 sets and i think the record time of not blowing a bud out was... 3 weeks. I don listen to music 4-8 hours a day though so... Maybe if your a casual listener though it would be better for you then me.

Oh and when i say the sound quailty is nice i mean that for $30 it is nice, Comparing it to sony's $40 or $60 pair, these don't even come close, well worth the extra $10 or $30. And Sony seems to last long in my experiences (2-3 months)

needs better material

By:

Up until now I have loved these buds. Skull Candy needs to step it up and spring for longer lasting material though. On both buds where it has the "R" and "L", has broken off on both just below the speaker. The cord has cracked and wire is exposed, constantly snagging on my shirt while I am riding my bike.
The stock ear fittings that come with these completely blow. They slipped out of my ears all the time, and I have tried all 3 sizes. Eventually they ended up cracking and falling apart. I sprung for the fitted foam ear fittings and the sound quality jumped up 3 fold. Your ears don’t hurt after long duration of wearing them and they block out all surrounding noise. I definitely recommend these for work. I just wish they came with the foam ear bit instead of these sub-par rubber ones.

Looks are everything here

They look cool, but I must say I went from a marginally more expensive set of S0ny ear buds that sounded WAY crisper and clearer, to these. The s0nys were way better sounding, but my left one broke and I bought these on recommendation from a friend. Big mistake, as the sound quality is so muddy. They also broke really shortly after buying them and I did not even abuse them or use them much. DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU LIKE GOOD SOUND QUALITY, but BUY THEM IF YOU LIKE MUDDY BASS. I guess for 29.00 they are O.K., at best.

No worries if you lose them

By: Dogfunk.com Employee

These headphones are a great buy for the money. I can ski with them in but can't run with them because they fall out. The only bummer is the little silicone ear pieces fall off and I end up losing them. When I need to use them at work I can pretty much tune out everyone around me, only bummer is that no one notices that I have them in. Maybe I should rethink my strategy...
