Smith Prodigy Goggle

Smith uses its spherical Carbonic-X lens to give you super-clear vision when you ride with the Prodigy Goggle. A Vaparator lens with adjustable vents helps you regulate airflow and eliminate fogging while the spherical shape increases peripheral vision. Smith added an Articulating Outrigger Positioning System to create an excellent fit whether you prefer a helmet or just roll with a beanie.

Bottom Line: Precise fit, excellent vision, and fog-fighting performance.

The sensor mirror lenses reflect some sharp light, but you can't hide behind them while checking out shorties' asses. The image is quite accurate of how other people see you though them.

The Sensor has a rose tint that increases contrast and about 70% light transmission which makes it quite ideal for night skiing or flat light conditions. Other colors I'd recommend are yellow, soft purple or clear.

Smith knows whats up

I won these goggles in a bet but would totaly pay retail for them if I had to. They are the sickest goggles I have ever worn. I originaly wanted IS goggles but sense they aren't helmet friendly I went with the Smith Prodigy and couldn't be happier. They don't fog up they sit comfy on your face and they are simple to clean after a yard sale. The reps will tell you to go to the logde and clean them with a blow drier after a good yard sale but don't worry about that cause you don't have time. Just use your glove to whipe out the big chunks and by the time you get back to the lift they will be dry and you will be happy.

End of the day at Northstar we stoped in the meadow to get a good time lapse and this shot came out pretty good.

Definitely Great Goggles

By:

I bought these goggles hoping that they would be compatible with my Smith Triads I got a couple years ago (strap broke). Unfortunately, they are not, but Smith still makes the best goggles out there. The Gold Sensor lens is fantastic in almost all light conditions. I took them to Alpental at night and had awesome visibility, field of vision and no fog at all in some very poor conditions. The following weekend, I used them at Crystal Mountain under bluebird skies and despite some initial squinting from the amount of light they let in, they again worked amazingly. I've got a pretty big face, and they do not pinch my nose or ride high like my Oakley Wisdoms. They also work great with my helmet unlike the Wisdoms. (Giro Encore) The frames seemed a little cheaper than the Triads, but they are flexible and resilient. The added contrast in the Gold Lens is a godsend.

Write your question here...Im going to get the Smith prodigy goggles but im not sure on the lense. What is the difference between the Ignitor, platnum, andRc36 lenses? Maybe you could put them in order from darkest to latest tent or something like that.

In order: Platinum Mirror - Darkest (25% light transmission); Sensor Mirror - (35%); RC36 (36%)

The RC36s are the closest you'll come to a "standard" lens. They're basically like the "persimmon" that every goggle company has, but they use a rose tint. Plus, Smith gogs have less distortion than most others I've tried.

You can also use the Sizing Chart under the color/lens selector drop-down at the top of the page to get a more detailed description of how each lens is supposed to perform. I'd say they are all pretty comparable lenses.
