Get into the Special Blend Women’s Crash Jacket and treat the mountain like your own personal red carpet affair. Off-center snaps compliment this form-fitting Special Blend jacket and function as storm flap closures. Light loft insulation and the Crash Jacket’s flannel lining keep you warm without overheating. Special Blend made sure you could remove the hood when you’re kicking it around town, so you can show off your hot ‘do. But don’t think that this stylish jacket is only about looking fly, cause Special Blend gave the baby herringbone fabric a 10K-waterproof rating, and added Underarm zips and a powder skirt.
Bottom Line: Fashion meets function in the Special Blend Women’s Crash Jacket.
Pros: -Waterproofing is great. -Looks hot. Get ready for compliments. -Fit is feminine - flattering if you have average or slender hips/butt. -Functional features. Has everything you'd want and need. -Fits true through the SHOULDERS (which was important, because I'm very broad up top.)
Cons: -runs very SMALL through the hips, even for a fitted jacket. I'm between 8-10 so I sized up and got the Large. Glad I did. The "Large - 10/12" is rather tight around my butt. I doubt it'd fit a size 12, and a fuller size 10 would be pushing it, even. - The snowskirt isn't "universal". It won't clip onto a belt - only onto special blend pants(which I didn't have). B/C the skirt runs small it constantly was riding up. Thus, I could be seen digging chunks of ice and snow out of my butt at the lodge.
Overall, a keeper. Just wish it was roomier and that the snowskirt was adaptable.
Ok girls, there are good and bad comments on here. I'm about a size nine, but I'm tall: 6'0. Are the sleeves really that short? And how far is the jacket down your waist. My body is the longest part of me, and I ALWAYS have problems with sleeeves and body length. Looks like a cute jacket, but I want a good fit, too! Let me know :)
Sounds to me that you should buy one size up from what you normally get. Sorry I'm not a girl, but nobody has responded to you in a month. That's my two cents.
This Jacket is as cute as it looks. As far as function goes it fails miserably. There are no cuffs on the sleeves, which means very cold wrists, and the sleeves are quite short. The hood is either buttoned all the way up or off. you have to have it snapped all the way up in order for the jacket to look good, there is no versitility in the way its worn. The pockets have the hidden zippers so they are difficult to access in cold weather, when your fingers feel like they are going to fall off. Good looks, but who ever designed it, has probably never ridden on the east coast, if at all.
This jacket has lightweight flannel insulation. If you were to use it for spring riding I would wear thin layers underneath you'd be ok. I will say it is not ideal though for really warm riding temps would require a light shell.
I'm 5'1 and 105 lbs. I got the jacket in XS and it fit great, except the arms were a bit long. It's really comfortable and you can really move around in it. Good for layering and very soft. I got it in St Tropez and the color is slightly brighter than in the pic. really nice color. However, it only looks really good when it is all buttoned up. It's not the warmest jacket but perfect for southern CA resorts like Big Bear where it's not that cold.
