Heavy & Awkward

By:

I love my Volcom puffy, and was hoping to like this jacket just as much. It is very cool looking, but when I finally had it, I thought it was really heavy and fit kinda short for a lanky guy like me. Also it doesn't have any pockets on the inside of the jacket! Not to mention the wierd pass pocket thingy that just gets filled with pow. I feel like Volcom tried too hard with this coat. I like my Burton AK shell more.

Would like to know if this jacket fits to its size or I should

Would like to know if this jacket fits to its size or I should go one size bigger (will Medium fit me close, I'm 175cm/65kg? or it will look rather loose?)

Yo B. This jacket fits on the looser side. For reference, I can usually choose a Large or XL for myself (for baggy steez) and the XL was waaaaay too big on me. I suggest you stick with the medium. SICK jacket by the way, I rocked it last season. It held up really well and looked killer.

Solid protection w/ lots of features

This was my 1st venture into Volcom outerwear, and I have to say I'm now a big fan. First things first... the jacket fits true to size. In the past, I've always bought size large in everything to run things a little baggy, but I ended up buying a size medium here (in addition to the Bjorn pants). The jacket is loose fitting, but not "thug" baggy. I considered going the Goretex route, but I've taken this 20/20 jacket out in freezing rain and mixed conditions, and it is bombproof. I like to layer up accordingly, and it keeps me dry in all kinds of temps --- it vents extremely well. On the rare East Coast powder day, the ziptech jacket to pant interface saved me from getting snow on my bum, and in my pants. I'm surprised that only 1 other outerwear brand uses a powderskirt zipper because it works so well. Other nice touches... the ghetto gloves (or wrist gaiters) are great, especially for those times when you *need* to take off your gloves to adjust something... the hidden pass pocket that allows you to pull your ID out to get scanned... and uber loads of pockets, including an easy access iPod/mp3 player slot. For me, this gear has become my benchmark.

Great shell

By:
January 8, 2009

I've used this jacket for a few days of boarding, and it works great as a shell. This jacket has no insulation that I can detect, but it blocks all water and wind. The lemon color is the flashiest jacket I've seen on the slopes, which means your buddies won't lose you in the treeline. It has a powder skirt, an internal pocket for goggles, stash pass pockets, hand pockets and more. The pitzips have vents that block snow from getting in, and the hood fits over a helmet. The only problem I've had is that the inner liner has become fuzzy after just a few days on the slopes, and is beginning to fray. This could be due to a small amount of loose velcro on my pants, but it is not much of an issue. Overall, a great jacket that protects well over various layers in any condition.

Bjorn V Co-Operative

This is the best looking jacket I've seen for 08-09 so I grabbed it in lemon color- so sick. Like any website image, the colors are much brighter in person. I'm 6', 160 lbs and the Large fits loose but not stupid baggy. Tried XL on in the store, way too big. Construction is bombproof, bangin 20K waterproofing, wrist gaiters (so necessary), tons of pockets. Plus, the jacket zips to my Volcom pants for total pow-proofing, and to keep my pants from falling off.
